The 5 Best Makeup Artists in Philadelphia That Can Match Your Style

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Skill and Versatility: A great artist needs to know how to work with different skin tones, textures, and personal styles. I looked for teams that champion inclusive artistry and can adjust between soft glam, full bridal, and natural looks.

On-Location Logistics: The morning of a big event should feel organized, not chaotic. I gave higher marks to businesses that bring lighting, tools, and a reliable setup directly to your venue or hotel room.

Reliability and Track Record: You need a beauty team that shows up on time and follows the plan. I paid attention to award history, consistency, and client feedback that pointed to dependable service.

Value and Pricing Transparency: Nobody wants surprise fees on the day of a celebration. I looked for clear pricing structures, helpful add-ons, and practical extras like touch-up kits.

Vendor Coordination: Great beauty teams usually work smoothly with event planners and photographers. That matters because hair, makeup, photos, and the ceremony timeline all need to flow together.

Getting ready for a wedding, photoshoot, or big night out can feel overwhelming, but the right beauty team changes the whole mood.

The search for the best makeup artist in Philadelphia comes down to matching your aesthetic with someone who listens, communicates well, and can handle real event-day pressure.

I wanted artists who celebrate personal style instead of turning you into someone unrecognizable. So, I looked through local studios that deliver polished looks, reliable timelines, and calm energy when it matters most.

How much does hiring a makeup artist cost in Philadelphia?

Booking a professional makeup artist in Philadelphia typically ranges from $100 to over $400 per person, depending on the occasion and specific bridal needs.

Service TypeEstimated Cost
General Event Makeup$100 – $175+
Bridal Makeup$150 – $400+
Bridesmaid Makeup$100 – $175
Full Wedding Packages$1,500+

1. MU8 Beauty Studio

Address: 1237 Point Breeze Avenue

Contact: (215) 239-2247 | [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Nailing that elevated “You 2.0” vibe is the biggest advantage of choosing MU8 Beauty Studio.

The team focuses on collaborating with your vision and keeping the process inclusive, so clients with different complexions and personal styles don’t feel boxed into one look.

I also like how structured their approach feels. Their Partnership, Ease, Energy, and Quality (P.E.E.Q.) philosophy brings a calm rhythm to what can easily become a chaotic wedding morning.

Their crew travels fully equipped with lighting and a clear timeline, which removes a lot of venue-day stress. They also offer custom spray tanning at the South Philly studio for anyone who wants a pre-event glow.

The main drawbacks are the tricky street parking for trials and the extra surcharges for early start times.

Pros

  • Highly versatile skill set
  • Excellent value-add perks
  • Fully equipped on-location service
  • Stellar industry track record

Cons

  • Extra surcharge for early start
  • Difficult studio parking

Felt the most beautiful I ever have

Patrice and Madison did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I am so happy they did! I truly felt the most beautiful I ever have on my wedding day and they both had great vibes during the day. Patrice also did my spray tan which looked great!

Organization, warmth, and connection

MU8 is the hair and makeup team you need. I found them early on in my search for vendors for my wedding and from day one I was blown away by Patrice and her team’s organization, warmth, and connection. From booking to trial to day of, I felt like I was celebrating with Patrice and her team, it felt like they were joining us in our excitement and joy which added so much positivity to our day. Their ability to make us look and FEEL good is priceless.

2. JM&Co.

Website: http://jacquelinemichelleandco.com/

Address: 116 Arch St, Ground Floor

Contact: (610) 742-3602 | [email protected]

Hours: Hours may vary

Coordinating separate hair and makeup vendors can get stressful fast, so JM&Co. is appealing if you want one team managing the full beauty schedule.

Their artists are hand-selected pros with broad event experience, so the overall tone feels polished without being stiff.

A friend who booked them recently said the upfront pricing helped her relax because she wasn’t worrying about hidden travel fees later. That kind of clarity matters when wedding costs are already stacking up.

I also like that they offer location flexibility. You can get ready at your venue, hotel, or their Old City studio.

The tradeoff is that driving to the Arch Street studio for a trial can mean pricey garages or metered parking. You also may not know your exact assigned stylist right away, so it’s worth asking how they match artists to your aesthetic.

Pros

  • Built for large groups
  • Complete beauty package
  • High experience level
  • Cool physical location

Cons

  • Agency routing uncertainty
  • Expensive studio parking

Managed the whole schedule with ease

I cannot say enough good things about this team! They were incredibly professional, responsive, accommodating, and on top of that did an amazing job with our hair and makeup! I worked with them for my wedding in November and I had myself, 13 bridesmaids, my mom and mother-in-law (MIL) and they managed the whole schedule with ease. I could not recommend them more and I was so happy with how it turned out!!

Made sure everyone felt beautiful

We were so happy with how our hair and makeup turned out for our wedding. JM&Co was incredibly professional and made sure everyone felt beautiful. They also were super patient and flexible before the wedding with setting up trials for both the brides and a mother of the bride. We would definitely recommend them!

3. Bella Angel Hair & Makeup

Website: http://www.bella-angel.com/

Address: 1516 North 5th Street

Contact: (856) 227-7774 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9 AM – 9 PM

Bella Angel Hair & Makeup has a long-standing reputation for bringing a salon-style experience directly to clients. Their on-location setup is helpful for weddings because nobody has to rush across the city before photos start.

Their trademarked cry-proof application and airbrushing options are major highlights for anyone worried about tears, heat, or a long reception.

I also like that their preview sessions document color details, which helps keep the final look consistent on the actual day. And with more than 30 working artists, they can handle large wedding parties without stretching the morning too thin.

Their familiarity with local venues also helps when timing hair, makeup, and wedding photographers

The downside is the premium pricing, added travel fees, and the fact that your experience can vary depending on the assigned artist. A paid preview feels nearly essential here.

Pros

  • Established local authority
  • Massive team capacity
  • Consistently high ratings
  • Specialized long-wear application

Cons

  • Premium pricing
  • Added travel fees
  • High artist variability

Made me look and feel beautiful

I worked with Bella Angel for my wedding hair and makeup and I absolutely loved them! Lee is fabulous and made me look and feel beautiful for my big day. She was very responsive to what I wanted and worked with me to achieve the perfect look. All the stylists we worked with were lovely and ensured that my entire bridal party looked fabulous. They were super accommodating, arrived to the hotel early and made sure we were all ready ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Bella Angel for your wedding day!!

Everyone looked beautiful

I used Bella Angel for hair and makeup services for my wedding in November. The artists were so kind and professional, and they did an amazing job. Everyone looked beautiful and was more than happy with their looks. I would definitely recommend them for any event you want to look your best for!

4. Victoria Roggio Beauty

Website: https://victoriaroggiobeauty.com/

Address: 219 Cuthbert Street, Floor 6

Contact: (215) 647-2048 | [email protected] | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9 AM – 7 PM; Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM

Victoria Roggio Beauty is the pick I would consider if skin prep matters just as much as the final makeup look.

The studio leans into a “beauty from within” approach, using high-tech skincare tools and luxury European products instead of relying on heavy layers of foundation.

I recently tried one of their personalized facials, and the lymphatic drainage focus left my face looking naturally sculpted and refreshed. That kind of prep explains why their event makeup often looks soft, clean, and camera-ready.

The team is also known for a calming presence during hectic mornings and can work efficiently with larger groups.

Just keep in mind that the premium branding comes with a high price tag. And during busy seasons, you may also run into scheduling hiccups because the support team feels leaner than a larger agency.

Pros

  • Natural and long-lasting application
  • Top-tier skin prep
  • Efficient with large groups
  • Calming and accommodating vibe

Cons

  • High price tag
  • Occasional schedule disorganization

Natural and beautiful hair and makeup

Victoria and her team did an amazing job for my Friday welcome party and Saturday wedding. Both days everyone was swooning over how natural and beautiful my hair and makeup looked. Hiring Victoria will truly make all of your hair and makeup stress go away for any occasion. I visited her spa for biologique recherche products about a year before the wedding and my skin thanked me for it! I also went for a facial routinely which definitely helped make my make up look even more amazing!

Perfectly photo ready throughout the day

Had a GORGEOUS time at the Victoria Roggio beauty studio getting ready for my wedding over the pandemic. Christina did my makeup and did a flawless job. My makeup was perfectly photo ready throughout the entire day. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, we had the loveliest time! Excited to go back for all of my self care and beauty needs.

5. Diana K Beauty

Website: http://www.dianakbeauty.com/

Address: 1430 Orchard Hill Ln, Rydal

Contact: +1.4843581425

Hours: By appointment

Diana K Beauty works well for clients who want a personal, natural-looking approach rather than a full agency setup. Diana brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience and focuses on helping clients feel empowered instead of overly made up.

I like that she offers both hair styling and makeup, which makes planning simpler if you don’t want to juggle multiple vendors. She also emphasizes safe, high-quality products that support skin health beyond the event itself.

The smaller setup is part of the charm, but it can also be a limitation. Very large parties may need more time than they would with a big multi-artist agency.

Center City clients should also plan ahead because traveling out to her Rydal studio for a trial takes extra coordination.

Pros

  • Extensive hands-on experience
  • Dual hair and makeup convenience
  • Focus on skin health
  • Strong local networking

Cons

  • Small team bandwidth
  • Suburban trial logistics

An elevated version of myself

Diana is a gem in this industry! She is one of the only make up artists that truly focuses on natural makeup. It was so important for me to look like an elevated version of myself on my wedding day and she nailed it! She asked me so many questions during my trial appointment, spent manyyy hours with me and was still ready to pivot on wedding day! Myself and my entire wedding party were so thrilled with the way we looked. She is a calming presence the day of the wedding, which is exactly what we all need.

Exactly what I wanted

Diana is the absolute best. I had two bridal makeup trials prior to her and did not care for either of them. As someone who does not regularly wear a lot of makeup, I didn’t feel like I looked like myself. Diana was able to accomplish EXACTLY what I wanted, to look like myself while still highlighting and enhancing my natural features. I can’t say enough good things. If I ever need my makeup done again, Diana is the only person I’m going to.
