1. Lauterborn Electric

Address: 3570 Edgemont St

Contact: (215) 425-6693

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Finding a contractor who treats your home like their own is rare, and Lauterborn Electric has the kind of family-run setup that makes that feel more believable.

The Lauterborn family runs the business, and the company says at least one family member is present on every job, which adds a nice layer of accountability.

I hired them for a service panel upgrade, and the electrician explained the steps clearly before getting started.

Their experience with 100- and 200-ampere (A) upgrades was reassuring, especially since they also used protective polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping where appropriate.

The work finished on schedule and felt cleanly handled. My only frustration came afterward, when phone follow-up on a minor post-installation question was slower than I expected.

Pros

  • Responsive and reliable scheduling
  • Competitive and transparent pricing
  • Strong communication and customer education

Cons

  • Lack of phone follow-up communication
  • Potential gaps in responsiveness

Worked quickly

These guys were fantastic! Family owned. Price was perfect. And they worked quickly. Larry and his sons came in, addressed the situation, and worked diligently while also respecting the space around them. Another electrician came in before them and started the work and then disappeared on us. Larry assured me every step of the way that he wasn’t going anywhere.

Arrived earlier than expected

We were having major electrical issues and for several weeks and could not get anyone to come out and look at it. This crew was in touch immediately and kindly responded to all texts. They arrived earlier than expected and finished the job before the end of the work day. I would recommend them to anyone.

2. EP Electric LLC

ep-electric-llc

Website: https://epelectricllc.com/

Address: 115 Village Ln

Contact: (215) 433-5004

Hours: Available 24/7

Urgent electrical failures are exactly where EP Electric stands out. The team offers 24/7 emergency service and brings more than two decades of industry experience to calls.

Their availability is convenient and helpful when you need anything from power-loss troubleshooting to commercial repairs handled quickly.

I also like that their technicians are licensed, insured, and certified, and their stocked service vehicles make same-day fixes more realistic. That timeline lines up with what customers mention most, especially for fan installs and Tesla charger work.

However, while their 100% satisfaction guarantee is reassuring, some clients still report occasional gaps in updates. Also, the pricing can feel premium compared with smaller neighborhood electricians.

Pros

  • Licensed, insured, and trained electricians
  • 100 percent satisfaction guarantee

Cons

  • Isolated complaints regarding communication
  • Premium pricing structures

Customer Reviews

Superbly AWESOME!

I really enjoyed working with EP Electric. I reached out to them for a same day Electric Fan install and they responded immediately and were able to get the job done in less than two and a half hours. From response time to job completion was under 4 hours! Ron, the Master Electrician and support team member Alex were very professional and superbly AWESOME!

Friendly, knowledgeable

EP ELECTRIC was an amazing company to work with! We got a new Tesla and wanted the wall charger installed in our home. They came out and gave us a quote and installed it the next day! Their customer service was amazing and their prices are affordable. Ron was the electrician that came out and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and got the job done quickly!

Address: 7000 Lynford St

Contact: (215) 302-1132

All Star Electrical Services feels like a practical option if you want emergency help but still care about project planning and budget.

This family-owned company provides custom electrical solutions and offers 24/7 emergency electrical service for urgent hazards, giving landlords and homeowners a useful safety net.

When I needed late-night panel help, their team arrived quickly and restored power without making the situation feel more stressful.

I also like that they talked me through energy efficiency and long-term savings, especially for lighting, appliance wiring, generators, and rewiring.

Another draw is their financing options. These include promotional zero-percent annual percentage rate, making it easier to consider bigger work.

I just wish that they had better follow-ups, though. I ran into mislabeled circuits afterward, and my follow-up requests weren’t answered as quickly as I hoped.

Pros

  • Fully licensed, bonded, and insured
  • Accessible financing options available

Cons

  • Communication gaps after project completion

Customer Reviews

Professional and respectful

Erwin and Chris showed up to investigate a few issues we had at our home and provided a reasonable estimate for the work. We asked if they could perform the work that day and they agreed. They finished a substantial amount of work that day and were professional and respectful during the entire process.

Knowledgeable and helpful

Our go to electrician. This is our second time using them. We actually requested to work with our original electrician Erwin. He is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He and his partner went through all our options and supported us in our choices. They worked fast and clean and were a pleasure to work with.

4. Linc Electric Inc

linc-electric-inc

Website: https://lincelectricpa.com/

Address: 6915 Castor Avenue

Contact: (215) 342-4353 | (610) 853-8293

Hours: Available 24/7

Holiday-weekend electrical issues usually make me expect a painful invoice, so Linc Electric stood out for their no-extra-charge policy for nights and weekends.

They offer 24/7 emergency electrical service and have more than 25 years of experience, which makes them a strong pick when timing isn’t flexible.

I also like that they use upfront pricing, so you can approve the cost before the work starts instead of guessing. Plus, their technicians arrive in stocked trucks and can handle residential or commercial electrical tasks on the same day.

The service isn’t perfect, though. A few customer experiences point to inconsistency between technicians, and some jobs may require more than one visit to fully resolve the original problem.

Pros

  • No extra charge for nights and weekends
  • Highly vetted and professional technicians
  • Fast same-day service turnaround

Cons

  • Occasional complaints about perceived high costs

Customer Reviews

Had someone out here within the hour

We had an urgent issue and quickly looked up “emergency electricians” in the area. Linc Electric came up and had good reviews and we now can confirm why! They had someone out here within the hour and our electrician, Roger, was polite, efficient, and was able to explain the issues and give us a quote on the spot.

Top tier and looked amazing

They came 30 minutes prior to my appointment time and got right to work. Very respectful. Once they were done they made sure everything was in working order. I had a new breaker box installed as well and they even labeled everything for me. I’m no electrician but the work was top tier and looked amazing.

5. Protech Electrical Services

Website: https://protechelectricalllc.com/

Address: 585 Sanger St

Contact: (267) 984-0888

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 8:00 AM – 10:30 PM

Older Philadelphia properties often need more than a simple fixture swap, and Protech Electrical Services seems built for that kind of work.

This family-owned and operated company provides traditional residential and commercial electrical services, along with modern upgrades such as electric vehicle (EV) chargers and generator installations.

Their licensed and insured electricians bring more than 15 years of hands-on experience. Their expertise truly helps when a project involves safety concerns or a full system update.

I also liked their communication during the estimate stage because they explained what needed immediate attention and what could wait.

Just a heads-up: Diagnostic or service fees of around $195 may apply, and those costs may not be as clear upfront as competitors that offer free diagnostics.

Pros

  • Modern electrical solutions like EV chargers
  • Strong customer satisfaction and professionalism

Cons

  • Upfront fee structure could be clearer

Customer Reviews

Knew exactly what he was doing

The electrician was on time, extremely professional, explained everything, knew exactly what he was doing, and left no mess in site. I’m so glad we found and would highly recommend this company and their staff to any and everyone. Thank you so much!

The electrician fixed everything

Seriously phenomenal company. I emailed over a home inspection report for a new house going over multiple electrical problems and was quoted a very fair price. The electrician fixed everything and also pointed out additional issues to fix for safety reasons. I now know everything electrical is safe in my new home and that is 100% priceless!
