If you’re looking for a lively spot that captures the feel of Vietnam’s busy streets, Miss Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant & Lounge is the place to go.
They keep their kitchen and bar open late, serving food and drinks until 2:00 AM on weekends. Plus, their happy hour menu has real street food bites and special cocktails.
One guest we talked to visited with a friend and said the nightlife vibe was unforgettable.
However, several guests also shared that the pho broth tasted pretty basic and the meat was too fatty.
There’s a required 20% service charge, too, so you’ll pay higher prices for the atmosphere than for perfect food.

Beautiful space – loved the vibe and decor. We went here for restaurant week towards the end of the week. Lights were dim, and it felt like a modern Vietnamese hang out spot. I’ve only tried a few items from the menu but looking forward to trying more in the future! Excited to try out their actual menu items and they are open late until 2am for their lounge.

A really good Vietnamese restaurant
In A Nutshell:
-Miss Saigon is a really good Vietnamese restaurant.
-I got lucky visiting Philly during restaurant week so they had a nice two-entree lunch special for $20.
-I ordered some Summer Rolls & a delicious bowl of 3 Beef Pho.
-I really loved the flavor of their broth & the flat noodles they use.
Overall, the food presentation was beautiful, along w/ the exterior/interior designs & the service is very friendly.

Walking into a Vietnam Restaurant really feels special, thanks to their deep family roots that go back to a small grocery shop in 1982.
Over the years, it’s made a huge impact on Chinatown’s food scene and even won a James Beard Award in 2024.
They also reward regulars with an online points system you can use for free meals.
On the food side, there’s a big menu full of clay pots and vermicelli dishes here, so there’s plenty to try.
Unfortunately, one guest we chatted with said their recent visit was a letdown since the pho broth tasted watered down and lacked rich flavor.
Others mentioned that management is pretty strict about custom requests, like not wanting to separate spring rolls in a takeout order.

Second food stop on our road trip to Philly was the nice Vietnamese Restaurant, my wife says she can’t find a good one here in RVA so I found this place while up there and she loved it, I myself ordered salt and pepper shrimp with rice and grilled vegetables food was amazing and my wife was satisfied but disappointed since she may not find another location as good.

Outstanding!
Outstanding! I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid and it’s better than ever. It’s got to be at least 15 years since the last time I came, but the place is still adorable and clean as can be. Pork rolls in fresh rice wrapper with vermicelli and basil are awesome as are the crispy vegetable spring rolls. Chicken Pad Thai noodles were delicious and the stand out was Salt and Pepper Squid, which I order every time I go out for Vietnamese…but this one…HOLY MOLY. The best S&P Squid I’ve ever had.

Phở 75 keeps things simple, sticking to what they do best, which is classic beef noodle soup served with tons of fresh herbs.
The menu also lets you choose from lots of traditional beef cuts, like flank and brisket, without costing much.
When we spoke to some regulars who are university students, many of them actually love this spot for a cheap and filling meal after class.
Another good thing is that they’re open every day, so you can get your pho fixed any time you want.
Just remember, they only take cash, so bring some before you go.
Also, a few guests have mentioned dealing with rude staff and finding some small differences between prices on the menu and their final bill.
They even have the traditional Vietnamese dessert drinks
Some places aren’t just about the food, although the food is great, but about transporting you to another place and time. When I was in this restaurant, I felt like I was in a hole-in-the-wall joint in southeast Asia. They even have the traditional Vietnamese dessert drinks on the menu–although those were not available due to the pandemic.

Great Vietnamese in Philadelphia!
Great Vietnamese in Philadelphia! The restaurant gets busy but it’s a big space and the service is good. We started with a papaya salad (not too sweet), then ate a chicken curry coconut dish and tofu mixed vegetable egg noodles. All dishes were of high quality.

Pho Xe Lua Viet Thai Restaurant is a great choice because of their menu, which has both traditional Vietnamese dishes and Thai favorites, so there’s something for everyone.
Ordering is really easy, too, since their online system lets you place your order without having to create an account. This makes things fast and simple.
The location is right in the heart of Chinatown, so it’s perfect if you’re exploring the neighborhood and want to grab a quick meal.
However, if you’re someone who loves strict traditional flavors, you might find some of the food a little less authentic. For example, a regular diner told us the special house pho tasted pretty similar to a regular bowl.
She added that the pork chops didn’t have the same marinade flavor you’d expect from a classic Vietnamese restaurant.

Best place in the world! The food wait time is only 5 minutes usually. No. 201 has really good porkchops. No.101 has a really good noodle soup! The staff is freindly. I have been eating here since I was 1 year old and I still have not gotten tired of it! This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in philly!
