Nothing tests a parent’s nerves quite like a toddler spiking a fever on a Friday afternoon. Suddenly, finding an available pediatrician feels harder than getting your little one to eat broccoli.

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best pediatric clinics in Philadelphia, checking credentials, services, and appointment schedules. Here’s where to find dependable care for your little ones.

1. Fox Chase Pediatrics

Address: 7500 Central Avenue, Suite 205
Contact: (215) 728-7711
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM to 7 PM, Friday: 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday: Morning appointments for sick children (call for appointment), Sunday: Telehealth appointments available on select mornings
Nobody wants their healthy newborn sitting beside a chorus of coughs! Thank goodness Fox Chase Pediatrics keeps sick and well children in separate waiting rooms, giving parents one less worry.
The clinic welcomes kids from birth through age 18. Expectant parents can even arrange a complimentary prenatal consultation before their little one arrives.
When fevers strike, the team works to accommodate same-day sick visits. Better yet, doors stay open until 7 PM Monday through Thursday, giving busy parents more scheduling flexibility.
Care doesn’t stop at routine checkups, either. The team handles asthma and behavioral concerns.
Plus, there’s an after-hours answering service that connects families with an on-call provider for urgent questions.
Weekend appointments come with a few strings attached, though. Saturday mornings are for sick visits only, while Sunday telehealth runs on select mornings.

Anyone looking for a good pediatric office would be delighted to be a patient here!
The staff is always so friendly, and we’ve been seeing Dr Flynn for years, but we have met and seen the other providers, too. My kids like going to see him when it’s time to go. My kids don’t like shots, but when they need them, they have always had good experiences. Anyone looking for a good pediatric office would be delighted to be a patient here!

2. Advocare Society Hill Pediatrics

Address: 834 Chestnut Street, Suite 306
Contact: (215) 545-8188
Hours: Walk-In Hours: Monday to Saturday: 8 AM to 8:45 AM; Office Hours: Monday to Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM, Saturday: 8 AM to noon; TeleVisits available all week
When your little one wakes up sick, the last thing you need is an appointment scramble. Advocare Society Hill Pediatrics offers early morning walk-ins from 8 to 8:45 AM, Monday through Saturday.
The practice has cared for Philadelphia families since 1986, welcoming patients from infancy through age 21. We like that kids can stick with familiar doctors well into young adulthood.
Beyond sick visits, the team handles routine checkups and childhood immunizations. That makes it easier for families to keep preventive care on track as their children grow.
And when medical worries crop up after closing time, parents aren’t left guessing. An after-hours nurse triage service provides guidance, with physician backup when needed.
But there’s one catch to those convenient morning walk-ins. They’re limited to certain new-onset illnesses, while new patients must call the office to arrange their first appointment rather than book online.

We’ve been with this practice since our 9-year-old was born, and we couldn’t be happier.
We’ve been with this practice since our 9-year-old was born, and we couldn’t be happier. The entire team is so kind, patient, and caring. They always take the time to listen and make us feel supported. My kids absolutely love coming here (especially to see the fishies in the waiting area!). It’s such a comfort knowing they’re in such good hands.

3. CHOP Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care

Address: 3500 Civic Center Boulevard
Contact: (215) 590-1000
Hours: Monday to Friday: 7 AM to 6 PM
One specialist appointment is enough to fill a family’s calendar, let alone several. CHOP’s Buerger Center takes some of the legwork out of complex care by housing multiple pediatric specialties in one 12-story building.
From cardiology to gastroenterology, the center offers care for children with complex medical needs. We appreciate that families can visit different specialists without trekking between hospitals, though appointments still need coordinating.
Between visits, little patients can enjoy the Wait, Play, Learn areas filled with educational activities. It’s a welcome distraction when hospital days start feeling a little too long.
Getting around is easier, too, thanks to clear registration signs and staff assistance. An underground parking garage gives families direct access to the building without another outdoor trek.
The downside is that appointments aren’t available on weekends, limiting options for busy families.
Parking also comes with a fee, so it’s worth checking current rates before your visit.

Thank you so much, CHOP!! 💓 …
Dr Adang and her medical team treated my son, and I felt like family when we came for his medical appointment. I had been feeling very intimidated and overwhelmed about my son’s diagnosis. I left feeling like we can conquer this. Thank you so much, CHOP!! 💓 …

The doctors and specialists are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate.
We’ve been going to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia allergy department for a few years now with my daughter, and I truly couldn’t be happier with the care we’ve received. The doctors and specialists are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. We’ve completed several food challenges and follow-up appointments, and each step was handled with such professionalism and reassurance.

4. CHOP Karabots Pediatric Primary Care Center

Address: 4865 Market Street
Contact: (267) 425-9800
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:15 AM to 7:30 PM, Friday: 8:15 AM to 5 PM, Saturday: 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM
Needles and nervous kids aren’t exactly a winning combination. CHOP Karabots helps ease the jitters with its Guided by Comfort program, making shots and blood draws less intimidating.
Beyond routine checkups, the center provides primary care from infancy through adolescence. We like that families can build a lasting relationship with their pediatric care team.
Busy schedules get some breathing room here, too. Appointments run until 7:30 PM Monday through Thursday, with Saturday hours for families juggling school and work.
For suitable concerns, video visits can spare families a trip across town. And when worries strike after hours, a pediatric nurse is just a phone call away.
That said, all visits require appointments, even for sick children.
Health forms submitted outside appointments can also take 7–10 business days, so plan ahead for school or daycare paperwork.

I definitely recommend coming here.
One of the best children’s care centers or hospitals, especially this building. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I always loved coming here, and now that I got older, I take my nephew to this care center and see my old physician. Everyone is very friendly, including the clerks. Very clean and organized place. They respect everyone no matter who or where you come from. I definitely recommend coming here.

Couldn’t be happier with Karabots!
We love our pediatrician, have found the after-hours on-call nurses super helpful and responsive, and have had great experiences with the various pediatricians we’ve had for sick visits. The people who work at reception are friendly, and one always remembers our kid. Couldn’t be happier with Karabots!

5. Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

Address: 2000 Hamilton Street, Suite 301
Contact: (215) 774-1166
Hours: Schedule an appointment
Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics takes the scramble out of scheduling kids’ checkups. The clinic offers same-day sick visits and aims to fit routine appointments within two weeks.
The practice cares for children from infancy through age 21. We like that families can stick with familiar providers through those tricky teenage years and beyond.
For kids needing extra support, the clinic’s affiliate program connects families with speech, physical, and behavioral therapists. It’s a handy option when healthcare needs go beyond regular checkups.
Busy evenings get some relief, too, thanks to nighttime telehealth appointments on select days. Parents can discuss suitable concerns without another trip across Philadelphia.
The scheduling catch is that individual providers keep different hours, so your preferred clinician might not always be available.
Telephone services are also limited to registered patients, which adds a hurdle for families just getting started.

I love that we are seen at the time of our scheduled appointment
My children attended Fairmount pediatrics and now my grandchildren. All the staff is very nice and welcoming. Nurse Jackie has been there since the beginning and she treats everyone like family. I love that we are seen at the time of our scheduled appointment and don’t have to wait to been seen

We are so happy with our choice to establish care at Fairmoint Peds.
My family is new to the practice and we are beyond thrilled with our experience in our newborns care in just their few weeks of life. All of the clinical and admin staff has been so supportive, informative, and helpful. I myself wasn’t feeling well at their newborn visit and it was without hesitation that the staff jumped in to make sure I was stable and helped coordinated medical services I needed at the time despite me not being a patient of theirs. We are so happy with our choice to establish care at Fairmoint Peds.
