The espresso shot was perfection
All around perfect neighborhood coffee bar with a micro shop and personalized vibe. The espresso shot was perfection with more complexity and polish than you sometimes find in smaller shops. Judging by the traffic and the speed of the staff, take-away coffee is the most popular here but there are great nooks to perch in and watch the warm neighborhood come alive in the morning. Highly recommend.

Excellent coffee, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere! This is hands-down one of the best coffee spots in Philly. The space has a cool, cozy vibe that’s perfect for meeting friends or getting some work done. The baristas are chill, friendly, and consistently make well-crafted drinks. Founders Mike and Edna have kept Nook Bakery & Coffee Bar running since 2003 by focusing on small details.
They prepare everything in-house and roast green coffee beans in ultra-small 1.5 lb batches, which gives them tight quality control over every cup.
I like their custom flavor chart because it makes choosing coffee less intimidating. It plots options from light and bright to dark and deep, so you can find your lane without getting buried in jargon.
They also carry serious home brewing gear like the Technivorm Moccamaster and offer loose-leaf teas such as Blueberry Rooibos for non-coffee drinkers.
The only real limitation is timing. They’re closed on Sundays and their afternoon hours are short, so this is more of a morning or lunch stop.

Herman’s ticks all the boxes. Super chill vibes, friendly staff always playing the jams, and some of the best coffee in Philly. I love the little shoppy shop inside too. It’s perfect whether you need a gift or want to put together a great meal for yourself. They also have an extensive non-alcoholic section, which you rarely see. It’s all just so thoughtful. Specialty coffees had good flavoring

Such a cute coffee shop! Highly recommend for a coffee date, study shesh, or a meeting. There’s a meeting space downstairs, so many options: matcha, coffee, tea, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. I got a caramel iced coffee with a splash of vanilla and sweet cold foam. It was perfect!

Excellent latte
Stopped by for a quick pick me up. A Salted Caramel Latte. The space was clean and everybody was friendly. Places to sit, inside and out, if you want to enjoy the sunshine. Excellent latte, strong and sweet (but not too sweet).
