I stopped by recently to try their authentic Spanish sherries and was completely blown away. You also get an unforgettable progression of small plates ending with regional cheeses. The kitchen clearly understands high-level flavor development.
Plus, I love how they categorize their rare drinks by traditional styles like Fino and Manzanilla.
However, you can’t grab a quick midday bite here because the kitchen skips lunch entirely. The dining room also stays locked up on Mondays, ruining any early-week date plans. You just have to plan your visit for the evening.

Authentic Tapas as Fabulous as the Real Deal
The food was incredible. I was lucky enough to visit Madrid this summer. Although I didn’t find the Spanish hunk of my dreams, I did enjoy authentic tapas and I can tell you right now that these tapas are every bit as fabulous as the real deal. We ordered the Blanco chorizo and Manchego charcuterie, both of which were served with a lightly salted sourdough bread which was just PERFECT. We also enjoyed the croquettes, pan con tomate, grilled oysters, Spanish bouillabaisse, and charred octopus. All of which were fantastic.

Phenomenal, Authentic Spanish Food With Personality
This place was phenomenal. The food was out of this world good. It’s straight up Spanish food, with a ton of personality from the chef (who came out and said hi to us at the end of our meal). The branzino was some of the best I’ve ever had, and their bravas is an extremely elevated but humble take on the classic patatas bravas my wife and I frequently eat in her home country of Spain.

The kitchen also serves an ever-changing menu featuring clean flavors and seasonal ingredients. You’ll easily feed a huge group by ordering authentic large plates like Paella Salvaje.
They offer a highly dynamic culinary concept with rustic small plates that make any date night special.
Be careful to watch the clock if you want their afternoon discounts. The happy hour window wraps up very early at six o’clock sharp. Getting off work late means missing out on the cheaper drinks and snacks entirely.

Great Dishes on the Dog-Friendly Patio
Enjoyed a summer day out with our little dog on the patio. All the dishes were great. From the standard bocarones, croquets, and patatas bravas you get in many Spanish tapas menus – to their refreshing tomato salad and their eggplant dish. Really good. Drinks were reasonable and good too.

Great Food, Impressive Wine, Too Loud
Food and service was great. Wine List impressive. For me (older person), its a little loud although there is nothing much they could do about it. The only suggestion would be to play Spanish music just as background music. Not loud music which just adds to the noise.

A Taste of Spain is a charming bakery offering dishes that feel like a quick trip to Madrid. The kitchen relies heavily on high-quality ingredients to elevate every single dish.
Among their best-sellers are a baguette loaded with acorn-fed Iberico ham, traditional seafood paella using authentic Bomba rice, and fresh potato and onion omelets.
I also recently bought a few of their fresh empanadas and loved the incredibly crunchy crust. And for dessert, you can finish your meal with a creamy slice of authentic Basque cheesecake.
However, trying to grab a meal early in the week will leave you disappointed. The restaurant stays totally closed on both Mondays and Tuesdays. You’ll have to save your cravings for the weekend or late Wednesday afternoon.

Authentic Spanish Food, Great Service, Cute
I am from Spain and it’s frustrating going to the other “Spanish” restaurants that are super-expensive and serve food that is nothing like the food in Spain. Finally, a Spanish restaurant that serves authentic Spanish food. It’s small and cute. The service was great and they even have a small shop where they sell some of their delicious food. The owner is right there preparing the food and it shows. We had the boquerones, which they marinate in the house and were great, the tortilla, which was amazing, the Ham croquettes.

The food is sooooo good! When I purchased so many dishes so my husband can taste Spanish Tapas – each dish was very tasty and it took me back to my memories of when we use to live in Spain. Amada is an iconic debut restaurant from Chef Jose Garces, the visionary founder. They have served rich traditional cuisine since 2005 in an authentic bodega setting that instantly elevates a celebratory dinner.
The expansive bar is the main highlight, featuring hanging jamóns and a fantastic regional wine selection.
But I recommend booking the exclusive six-seat chef’s counter, which gives you a direct view of the bustling kitchen. They even design incredible multi-course seasonal events like a Christmas Eve seafood feast.
But note that you won’t find a bargain here on a Saturday night. The fantastic afternoon happy hour program excludes peak weekend evenings entirely. You have to pay full price unless you visit during the week.
If you want variety, a great sushi restaurant in Philadelphia might satisfy your raw cravings instead.

I love that the kitchen stays fully operational into the early morning hours on weekends, ensuring access to great food and ambiance.
The local owners explicitly designed their welcoming space to serve the immediate community. It features a vibrant Latin theme that turns a standard meal into an actual party.
In fact, we think their intimate outdoor patio is perfect for hosting private celebrations.
But note that bringing a small date to happy hour requires a change of plans. The lounge bars small groups from making discount reservations during the week. You need a party of at least six people to secure those early evening drink specials.

Awesome Server and Trendy Latin Vibe
Given that it was soon after they opened in setting of COVID, we only experienced the outside. We didn’t have to wait long, and they accommodated me and my 2 friends rather quickly. There were 2 servers, and the server we had was pretty awesome. He made good recommendations, and even told us in a way like, “you should have this instead.” I can’t wait until they actually open the indoor seating area. The interior gives you a trendy, Latin/Spanish/Hispanic feel to it, and so does the plate wear.
