Sending a true taste of the city is simple when you go to the right local specialist. Founded in 1987, Pennsylvania General Store ships iconic Pennsylvania-made foods and classic Philly snacks like soft pretzels all over the country.
My cousin got their classic sampler box last month, and the snacks arrived beautifully fresh. The pretzels were so soft, and the bakery treats tasted like they’d come out of the oven that morning.
They also carry a wide variety of locally sourced meats and cheeses that work great for large corporate gatherings.
But because they focus so heavily on regional snack foods, they’re not the best pick if you want a traditional floral gift.
Amazing
This is an amazing general store with a big variety for a small space. So happy to stumble into it. They have chocolates, cheese, breads, teas, coffees, souvenirs, kitchen ware, drink fridge, glassware, gift baskets, honeys, jams, fruit butter, I was constantly amazed by how much they had. All the food is locally made and sourced which is always amazing to hear. I left with more than I dreamed of when I first walked by.

Top choice for sending gifts
Had a basket overnighted to friends in Florida and it arrived by 1030 this AM and it looked WONDERFUL! The woman who took our order was very friendly and helpful ! We also had Old Fashioned mustard chow-chow shipped to us in June. No problems and it tasted great! Thank you so much. You are definitely our top choice for sending gifts !

Excellent variety and quality of specialty foods that are great for fancy gifts or to spoil yourself. Cheeses from around the world, delectable cured meats, a variety of sweet and savory spreads, tasty-looking fresh prepared foods, and pastries from the absolute best Italian bakery in town — Isgro. On top of all that they have wonderful customer service. Kevin went out of his way to make my experience putting together a beautiful gift basket for a client a great experience. 10/10 will shop here again!

Quickly fell in love with this market
Stopped in to grab a gift and quickly fell in love with this market. For a small market it carries quite a bit and I was impressed with the selection of fresh meats and fish as well as the cheeses and other delectables. The prices were reasonable and I’ve never seen a market this pristine in my life. The staff at the cheese counter were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and am looking forward to visiting Philadelphia again to stock up!

I called them directly to ask about their setups, and the customer service team was genuinely helpful with picking the right package. They handle local shipping smoothly and make sure everything arrives in great shape.
They even offer fun add-ons like plush bears for welcoming a new baby.
That said, their gourmet options lean toward a limited selection of packaged snacks, charcuterie, and teas rather than fresh bakery goods.

You can not go wrong with Robertson’s! Everytime I order from them, large or small, the arrangements are beautiful and vibrant! This was my first time ordering a gift basket and WOW-it was fantastic with fresh fruit and DiBruno Brothers cheeses.
