This was a restaurant week stop for me, and I’m so glad we went despite not having a single clue about Filipino food. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. BYOB, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and very cozy inside to the point we chatted with our neighbor table and joined the entire restaurant in singing happy birthday to another diner. If you’re looking for something different in Philly, this is a perfect stop!

It was all delicious
The food here was phenomenal! A different spin on filipino food….it was all delicious. BYOB too. We had the duck adobo, lamb shank kare kare, short rib menudo, and pinkabet. It was ALL delicious! The pandesal is baked in house and I could eat it all day. Save room for dessert because the babingka is good as you know what. Great dining atmosphere. No other restaurant is serving food like this in town. Definitely coming back to try the kamayan dinner.

Tabachoy is one of the hottest places in Philly right now. Every dish was flavorful and embodied Filipino spices. Portions are small, but eating family style with a group allows you to try a little of everything. The restaurant is quite tiny and only seats a couple tables. Such a cozy little gem of a Filipino restaurant! My partner and I both ordered the pork adobo bowl during a closed event hosted by them, and we cleared it so fast because it was just that good! Portion sizes were filling and the quality of the food was top notch – I put the fork in my mouth and immediately said “Wow this tastes like home.” The space is decorated tastefully and well utilized despite being on the smaller side. I travel all over the country and every place I go I always look for a good Filipino restaurant. This place by far has been the best I have ever had. They also have a store that has a lot of Filipino Stuff. To much to list. If you are in the area or close by definitely stop by and you will see what I’m talking about. I plan on stopping by agthis week before I leave to go back home.
