5 Best Endodontists in Philadelphia for Expert Dental Care

best-endodontists-philadelphia
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Expertise and Credentials: I looked for endodontists with advanced training, board certifications, and extensive experience treating complex root canal cases. This gave me confidence that they use up-to-date techniques and provide quality care.

Advanced Dental Technology: I checked whether each clinic uses modern tools like 3D imaging and surgical microscopes. These tools help dentists find problems more accurately and treat them with better precision.

Emergency Availability: I looked for clinics that offer flexible scheduling or same-day emergency appointments. Fast treatment is important when you're dealing with severe tooth pain.

Patient Comfort and Care: I paid close attention to how each clinic treats its patients. Friendly communication and a caring approach can make even stressful dental visits feel much easier.

Tooth pain can ruin your whole day, and the only thing worse than the pain itself is going through the trouble of booking an appointment only to find out you’re at the wrong clinic.

If you need a root canal, you need an endodontist, not the professional who pulls a wisdom tooth or the oral surgeon who handles jaw trauma.

To save you the frustration of mismatched referrals, I’ve rounded up the best endodontists in Philadelphia to ensure you get the exact care your smile needs.

Check them out and find your specialist today.

Nobody wants to wake up with severe tooth pain, and Wolgin Endodontics makes it easier to get help fast with same-day emergency appointments.

Dr. Wolgin earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Tufts, bringing strong training and precise care to every patient.

They also use advanced 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging to find tiny tooth cracks and other hard-to-spot problems.

Professional, reassuring, and quick!

I never thought I’d describe root canal as a great experience, but thanks to Dr. Wolgin and his team, it was. They were professional, reassuring, and quick! Truly a better experience than all the dental work I’ve had in the past – which is unfortunately a lot. I’d recommend to anyone looking for an endodontist!

They made me feel safe

As someone who is terrified of any kind of dental work and had to have an emergency root canal, I am so grateful to Wolgin Endodontics for their care and expertise managing my tooth, AND managing me! Not only was it pain-free, but they made me feel safe and listened to at every point in the process. I highly recommend them at every point, from front desk to endodontist and everyone in between.

2. Barry Rhome DMD, PC

barry-rhome-dmd-pc

Website: https://www.barryrhomedmd.com/

Address: 1528 Walnut Street

Contact: 215-735-7113

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Barry Rhome DMD, PC, with nearly 45 years of experience and more than 30,000 completed procedures, is a trusted choice for difficult root canals.

From what I’ve found, he also holds dual endodontic certificates from the University of Pennsylvania and Albert Einstein Hospital, providing him with advanced training in complex cases.

Many patients also feel more confident knowing he has been voted one of the top dentists by fellow dental professionals for many years.

He has also taught dental residents, and that experience helps him handle dental trauma and other challenging treatments with care.

The downside is that the office can have administrative delays. Some procedures may not happen as originally scheduled, and insurance claims can take longer because the practice still relies on fax.

Pros

  • Over 30,000 procedures completed
  • Unique dual certificate background
  • Voted top dentist for a decade
  • Handles a  wide variety of complex cases

Cons

  • Administrative and scheduling delays
  • Relies on outdated fax communication

Was able to come right in same day on his half of day

I had an EXCELLENT experience at Dr. Rhome office. His chair side make you feel very comfortable and welcome. I can feel I was in great hands with a well seasoned knowledgeable Endodontist I called in a lot of pain and I was able to come right in same day on his half of day which I appreciate so much. The entire staff was very nice. I want to thank Dr. Rhome for providing a warm, welcoming PAINLESS experience. If I ever have this issue again I am only coming to Dr. Rome.

A truly painless endodontist

This was my first root canal. It was a PLEASANT experience! He really knows what he’s doing! My job required 2 visits and he did not charge me extra for this even though it was more expensive for him. He was in perfect synchronization with his assistant during the procedure. A truly painless endodontist.

Endodontist Dr Chiara Q. Is always very good at what she does in doing root canal’s in people who are nervous. I chose her because of this problem that I have when seeing a dentist due to too many root canal’s being done on my teeth before. But she is a great Endodontist. I recommend her to anyone for she’s fast & very knowlegeable in her work.

Endodontics Limited PC makes it easier to get fast care for a painful tooth infection.

With their team of six specialists and three office locations across the region, it’s often easier to get an appointment when you need one.

They offer a full range of treatments, too, from routine root canals to complex surgical apicoectomies, and they also treat severe dental injuries.

And since several specialists work together here, they can discuss difficult cases and share their knowledge to help choose the right treatment.

Another plus for convenience is that you can also pick the office that’s most convenient for your home or workplace.

One downside is that some past patients said their teeth fractured within a year after treatment. Others also reported that the local anesthetic wore off too quickly during their procedure.

Pros

  • Six specialists on the team
  • Three convenient office locations
  • Strong collaborative knowledge
  • Handles severe dental trauma

Cons

  • Long-term fracture risks reported
  • Anesthetics wore off during surgery

Customer Reviews

Gave me an honest assessment of my tooth

The Endodontist was very professional and gave me an honest assessment of my tooth and told me straight up that it isn’t salvageable and a root canal isn’t the best course of treatment even though doing root canals are his bread and butter. I really appreciate the honesty and the fact that he took his time explaining the rationale and showed me what he saw in my dental scans. I even got a memory stick with the scans on it that I could take home and give to my dentist or dental surgeon to look at.

Exceptional and put you at ease

I found myself a great Endodontist. In network with Delta Dental so saved.$$$. Yet Dr. Walter’s was exceptional and put you at ease. I highly recommend him and his support staff who were very kind and accommodating.
