Finding the best yoga classes in Philadelphia can really change how often you actually show up for your practice. The city offers everything from slow, restorative flows to intense power sessions.
The right fit usually depends on your schedule, comfort level, and what you want to get out of it. Some studios feel calm and grounding, while others lean more energetic and structured.
A lot of people also pair yoga with sessions from personal trainers to build strength and support overall mobility, especially if they are balancing multiple fitness goals.
I spent time trying out different spaces around the city to see which ones feel welcoming, consistent, and worth committing to. Here are the ones that stood out the most!

1. Yoga Habit

Website: https://www.yogahabit.com/
Address: 1640 Fairmount Ave 2nd Floor
Contact: (215) 600-0863
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Stepping into Yoga Habit feels like joining a vibrant, community-driven power yoga family right away. They specialize in dynamic, heated power flows that push your endurance while keeping the energy high.
I have taken a few of their music-themed classes myself, and the upbeat atmosphere completely changed how I approached a tough sequence.
The instructors are fantastic at offering modifications for different levels, but you do need to arrive early. They have a strict no-late-entry policy once class begins, which can be frustrating if traffic throws off your timing.
The 90-degree infrared heat is great for a deep sweat, though it may feel intense for newer students.
There is also only one shower available on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan ahead if you are heading somewhere afterward.
Feel welcomed and not judged!
I’m a novice and was nervous about this. Well this community accepts all! I look at my neighbor and learn, they have assist me cards and the instructor comes by…everyone teaching and learning are amazing! I’ve only gone 4x and they have been so wonderful to remember my face. The 2 week try us out package let me try before I buy! I canceled my gym membership and getting the monthly here. Come here if you want to feel welcomed and not judged! I’m truly so grateful for Yoga Habit 🧘🏼♀️🫶🏼🧘🏼♀️

Excellent instructions
I really loved the experience at Yoga Habit. The front desk was really helpful and I could get myself situated within 15 minutes. I left the session feeling completely relaxed. Kara (substituting that day) had some excellent instructions for some of the complex moves. I would go again.

2. Amrita Yoga and Wellness

Website: https://amritayogawellness.com/
Address: 1204 Frankford Ave
Contact: (215) 600-7544
Hours: 20 minutes prior to and after every scheduled class; also by appointment
If you’re looking for an all-in-one wellness hub, Amrita Yoga and Wellness goes far beyond a typical studio setup. They offer a wide mix of yoga styles alongside Pilates, barre, Tai Chi, and Ayurvedic treatments.
Having the choice between infrared hot yoga and standard boutique fitness classes keeps the schedule from feeling repetitive.
The space is designed like an urban sanctuary, and the hybrid options make it easier to keep practicing when you cannot get there in person.
The main drawbacks are practical ones. There is no dedicated water refill station, so you have to use the bathroom sinks.
You also need to bring your own mat for heated sessions because rentals are not offered for those classes.
Staff are incredibly friendly
I love the bright and welcoming atmosphere at Amrita Yoga and Wellness – the studio is spotless, the staff are incredibly friendly, and every class feels like a great workout that leaves you feeling refreshed. It’s one of the best yoga studios in Philadelphia and a perfect spot for anyone searching for yoga classes near me. If happiness had a location on Google Maps, it would be here. Love the yoga classes with Alison Margolies her vibe is amazing, Erin Chambers has a great pilates class. Recommend both!

Top notch teachers
My favorite yoga studio. Fantastic range of classes (although I’ve only done heated yoga and yoga sculpt by preference – loving the sculpt class with Pelin recently!) and top notch teachers. I also like that they have the option for the community flow which is a lower cost heated yoga class. Highly recommend to any and all!

People who want personalized attention will probably appreciate the intentionally small group classes at Muse Yoga & Fitness. Because sessions are capped at around eight people, instructors can learn your goals and correct your form throughout class.
A friend of mine regularly attends their High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and strength sessions. She keeps mentioning how much the tailored guidance has improved her mobility.
Beyond traditional flows, this hybrid studio blends yoga, Pilates, and strength work for a more modern routine.
However, scheduling takes a little effort. Class registration typically opens only one week in advance, which can make planning stressful if your routine is rigid.
Their heated formats can also feel intense, so complete beginners may want to start with non-heated options first.
Environment is always so positive and uplifting
Hands down the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to! The instructors are amazing, the space is beautiful and the environment is always so positive and uplifting. You can really tell the owner puts her heart and soul into this place and wants everyone to have a great experience. Highly recommend!!

4. Maha Yoga

Website: https://mahayogastudio.com/
Address: 2030 Sansom St, 3rd floor
Contact: (267) 603-5362
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Maha Yoga takes a thoughtful, mobility-informed approach to movement, with a strong focus on pain relief and injury prevention.
By combining functional training and modern exercise science with traditional flows, they create a practice that feels therapeutic without becoming clinical.
It’s a strong option for anyone trying to build joint strength while improving flexibility in a safer, more structured way.
The instructors are excellent at providing modifications, and the large on-demand library gives you room to practice from home.
The only real downside is the consistency required. They recommend practicing at least two to three times a week to see true mobility benefits, which might be tough with a demanding schedule.
Still, the flexible memberships and beginner intro packages help soften that commitment.
An amazing yoga instructor
My private lessons at Maha Yoga with Michael Cohen are beyond belief. Michael is an amazing yoga instructor on so many levels. He’s patient, poise and knowledgeable. He has helped me so much not only in my yoga practice but in my overall life/well being. His 7:30 am yoga classes I equally enjoy. Every single time I leave any of his classes I feel energetically relaxed.

The staff and instructors are all great.
I am enjoying learning and practicing yoga at MaHa. The staff and instructors are all great. I have taken the beginner class with both Kim and Suzanne. Both are great. My classes have been in both the morning and evening but I cannot select both.

5. Thrive Pilates & Yoga

Website: https://www.thrivepilatesyoga.com/
Address: 2016 Walnut Street
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM; Sunday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
For fitness enthusiasts who want variety, Thrive Pilates & Yoga combines mind-body flows with serious strength conditioning.
You can move from a restorative stretch to a Total Resistance Exercise (TRX) or reformer session, which makes it easier to cover several fitness goals under one roof.
The small class sizes help, too.
You never feel completely lost in the crowd, and instructors are quick to offer adjustments.
The community vibe and diverse schedule are strong, but the administrative policies are strict. Late cancellations can lead to fees or lost credits, so you need to manage bookings at least 18 hours in advance.
Monthly memberships also require a 30-day written notice to cancel.
If your schedule is steady, the perks like free mat rentals and guest passes add real value.
So lovely and always very helpful
Thrive has a wonderful group of instructors who are absolutely amazing at teaching and connecting with each person in the studio. Whatever your fitness background might be, they will support you every step of the way, help you get stronger and see results. Thrive also has the best front desk team ever. They are so lovely and always very helpful. Plus it is such a warm and welcoming space which feels like a little getaway from the real world while building a nice Pilates/yoga routine. If you’re looking for a studio to join in Philly, this is it!
