Outstanding food and a spectacular dessert.

Everything we ordered was outstanding. The baked oysters were fantastic, the lobster tail was cooked perfectly, and the steak was exactly what you hope for when you go to a great steakhouse, rich, flavorful, and executed flawlessly.

It was also my first time trying Baked Alaska, something I’d always been curious about, and it completely lived up to the anticipation. It was spectacular and instantly became one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever had.

BEST steakhouse in Philly and maybe the country…..I’m not exaggerating. I’ve been here 25+ times and the food has never not been perfect. The biscuits are unbelievable and being from down South that’s right up my alley. The staff is AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Small menu and that’s a good thing because there’s nothing on the menu that isn’t amazing. If you visit Philly this is a must and you can’t beat the vibe in this building….tall ceilings, comfy seating, the music…all of it.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse makes a strong first impression the second you walk in. The restaurant is set inside a stunning historic bank building with a huge three-story wine tower right in the middle of the space. 

The atmosphere feels dramatic and upscale. It’s the kind of place where you can easily turn dinner into a full evening out. 

Their standalone bar area is especially nice for relaxing with drinks and upscale appetizers before the main meal.

The menu also clearly caters to serious steak lovers. They offer premium cuts and rare options like Certified Kobe Beef that make the experience feel a step above a standard steakhouse.

They have a strict dress code, though. Casual outfits or sportswear can get you turned away at the door even if you already have a reservation, so planning your outfit ahead of time is important.

Exceptional meal and attentive, professional staff.

I had an exceptional meal at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. The hostess, Val, was very welcoming and personable and nice to talk with. My waiter, Michael, and his servers, were top notch and as professional as could be. The manager, Doug, stopped by to make sure everything was going well. Everyone could not have been more attentive. 

Perfectly cooked ribeye and lovely server Augustin.

I went with the bleu cheese iceberg wedge as a starter; then had the ribeye and a side of asparagus; and finished with the cheesecake. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned—especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend their Steakhouse Iced Tea because the bartender clocked IN. The only miss was the bread, which tasted more microwaved than fresh. That said, the service more than made up for it. Our server, Augustin, was lovely, and the rest of the staff was attentive throughout the meal. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth checking out.

Alpen Rose has a more tucked-away, intimate feel, but the food and atmosphere still deliver that classic upscale steakhouse experience. 

They heavily lean into old-school dining techniques, especially with standout dishes like the huge 38-ounce tomahawk ribeye and their rich, carefully prepared Beef Wellington with prosciutto and bordelaise sauce. 

They also seem well-organized for private events. Their event planning team is responsive and easy to work with when coordinating group dinners or special occasions.

That said, this is definitely more of a luxury night-out spot than a casual dinner place. Their signature large-format steaks come with a pretty steep price tag. Ordering something like the massive porterhouse can also push the total bill up quickly. 

Still, those oversized cuts really do create a memorable centerpiece for the table.

Perfect Beef Wellington and amazing anniversary service.

My wife and I went for our anniversary, and they started us off with a small pour of sparkling rosé, which was a really nice touch. Every dish we had was amazing. I’m a big fan of beef Wellington, and not many places serve it. This one was done perfectly with a delicious sauce that pulled it all together.

The drinks were also spot on, and the pineapple upside down Alaska for dessert was awesome. Everything from start to finish was impressive. Our server Dana and the entire team provided amazing service.

Birthday splurge with buttery rolls and bone marrow.

After years of anticipation, I finally got to dine at this steakhouse for my birthday, thanks to my amazing friends! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.

We went all out, ordering almost everything on the menu. The house rolls were buttery and fluffy, the smoked bacon had a nice sweetness, and the bone marrow toast was an absolute must-try! The grilled octopus was just okay—I wish there was more octopus instead of mostly potatoes and frisée.

Barclay Prime has a really polished, almost European library-like atmosphere that feels calm, upscale, and very intentional in its design. 

The whole experience leans into luxury dining, with a menu that balances high-end beef selections and very fresh seafood options.

One thing that stands out is how selective their menu is. They offer premium international meats that are clearly chosen with a lot of care. 

Their take on the classic local sandwich, made with wagyu and foie gras, is also impressive. It definitely feels more like a luxury interpretation than a casual bite.

The biggest drawback is cost. The signature items already come at a high price point, and the cocktail and beverage program is also on the expensive side. Expect the total bill to climb quickly depending on what you order.

Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse has a really upscale, dramatic feel, especially with its setting inside the historic Caldwell’s Jewelry Building. 

The space uses tall ceilings and ornate French-cut chandeliers to create a very polished atmosphere that still feels lively and energetic.

The main experience here is clearly the churrasco-style dining. The chefs bring around different cuts of meat and carve them table-side, which turns the whole meal into a more interactive experience. 

A business owner we spoke with shared that he hosted a business lunch here, and shared that he really enjoyed how engaging the whole process was.

Just note that street parking around the area is limited, so most people end up using valet. Larger vehicles like SUVs or minivans may come with additional valet charges, which can make the visit more expensive than expected.

Amazing Brazilian steakhouse food and service.

Amazing food and service. If you haven’t experienced a Brazilian steakhouse, you’ve got to try it! The queijo coalho is a delightful cheese that’s become my favorite part of the experience. The top sirloin was great and the bacon wrapped chicken was just so tender, juicy and flavorful. Oh, and the mango habanero capirinha was delicious! Muito obrigado!

Carlos was the BEST server. It was our first time here and he introduced us to how a Brazilian Steakhouse works. Throughout the evening he was funny, charismatic, and vigilant with our requests and service. 100% would recommend to request for first time diners! Our family WILL be coming here annually. Great fine dining experience for newcomers to Philadelphia!
