Address: 2016 Walnut Street

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Sunday 9 AM–1 PM, 5–8 PM; Monday 7 AM–1 PM, 5–8 PM; Tuesday 7 AM–1 PM, 5–8 PM; Wednesday 7 AM–1 PM, 5–8 PM; Thursday 7 AM–1 PM, 5–8 PM; Friday 7 AM–1 PM, 5–7 PM; Saturday 9 AM–12 PM

Thrive Pilates & Yoga offers flexible training formats that allow you to seamlessly switch between in-studio and virtual private sessions.

I like how they combine traditional mat routines with Total Resistance Exercises (TRX) and springboard workouts to keep your fitness regimen engaging.

When I recently dropped into one of their hybrid classes, the instructor provided exceptionally detailed form corrections even through the virtual feed.

Another thing I appreciate is that their extensive membership perks include free guest passes and priority booking. You also get generous discounts on specialized workshops covering posture and stress reduction.

However, booking requires careful planning due to a rigid cancellation policy that penalizes changes made within an 18-hour weekend window. There’s also a mandatory six-month minimum term if you want to commit to a membership.

Pros

  • Wide variety of formats and equipment
  • Flexible in-studio and virtual access
  •
  • Convenient central Philadelphia location

Cons

  •
  • Mandatory 6-month minimum commitment

I always feel good afterwards

I have done Pilates at Thrive in Rittenhouse. Each class has been excellent. The classes are a mix of contemporary Pilates and classical Pilates. The instructors take the time to plan the classes in a very smart way. There hasn’t been a class where I wasn’t 100% engaged. I always feel good afterwards too.

I am excited to try a reformer class here. 🙂 Congratulations on a very fun studio, Hally and team.

made sure everyone felt comfortable and supported

We had such a wonderful experience at this Pilates studio for my bachelorette party! They were kind enough to accommodate us with a private room, which made the experience feel extra special. The instructor was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and supported throughout the class. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for a private session. I highly recommend this studio for both individual classes and special group events!

friendly for all levels and a challenging work out

I’ve been a member of Retro Pilates for 3 years. It’s a super welcoming Pilates studio that’s both friendly for all levels and a challenging work out. Each instructor has their own style and I love the variety! So happy to have this gem in my neighborhood.

super responsive and personable as well

I had the most amazing time during my group class for a friend’s bachelorette! I am so happy Retro Pilates was able to accommodate a private class to celebrate the bride to be. Our instructor, Bridget, was knowledgeable in helping tailor the class to meet our group needs and offered personal adjustments consistently throughout the class. She is a sweetheart but still definitely kicked our butts! The owner, Kayla, is super responsive and personable as well. The space is so beautiful and the vibes were immaculate!

They maintain a strong focus on inclusivity to ensure everyone, from beginners to seniors, feels entirely welcome.

The Germantown studio offers a diverse range of formats, from mat routines to Wunda Chair sessions. You easily find budget-friendly class bundles that make consistent training much more attainable.

When I attended an introductory evaluation here, the instructor mapped out a customized progression plan specifically for my joint mobility concerns.

Pros

  • Intimate class sizes for tailored guidance
  • Highly inclusive environment for all ages
  • Affordable pricing and flexible bundles
  • Free introductory evaluation available

Cons

  • Limited class availability
  • Potential booking constraints during peak times

 attentive and patient

My first Pilates class with Ms. Val was amazing! She was incredibly welcoming and warm, which made me feel at ease right away. The studio had a small, intimate feel and was very clean, creating a calm and comfortable environment. Ms. Val was attentive and patient, never pushing me but always reassuring me when I wanted to try more advanced moves that the others were doing. Her encouragement made the experience both challenging and enjoyable. I left feeling confident and excited for my next class. Highly recommend!

A favorite aspect in this light-filled Fitler Square space is that it gives off a calming vibe for your daily practice. Plus, their easy online booking process makes scheduling a breeze.

  • Flexible memberships and class combination packages
  • Easy online booking process
  • Structured introductory onboarding package

Cons

  • Limited class capacity and waitlists

very well informed and personable.

I have been going here for I think 6 months maybe more…time flies when you are having fun. I am so glad that I found this place. It is a very welcoming community. I like that they have added strength classes and sculpt classes. All the instructors are very well informed and personable. While it’s group training it still feels like it is one on one training. The studio is beautifully lit and bright. Everyone is welcoming and I’m excited to see where Pilates takes me.

felt consistently challenged but supported

I’ve been taking Reformer classes at Solmar on South Street for 3 months now. Lauren, Tahira, and Isabel are all careful and encouraging instructors. Class always leaves me feeling 10,000% better when I leave than when I arrived. I have felt consistently challenged but supported by the studio community as a beginner with some special injury and prenatal concerns. The small classes at Solmar are both safer and more intense than the over-enrolled pilates classes at the big center city gyms.

best decision I’ve made in a long time!

I had been searching for years to find my way back into health and wellness and booking my first Pilates lesson with Kelly was the best decision I’ve made in a long time! This studio is a fantastic, clean, safe space for anyone looking to get into the world of Pilates. I was a complete beginner with the equipment/fundamentals and have only felt patience and encouragement. I always leave feeling better than I came in. Highly recommend!!

You won’t find a better Pilates instructor!!!

Kelly is the best of the best! She takes such a gentle yet direct guided approach to Pilates. Every single time myself and my husband finish her class we feel stronger, longer and less tense. It’s truly amazing how in-tuned with the way a body should move. You won’t find a better Pilates instructor!!!
