We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Print Quality: I looked at how well each shop printed clear photos with accurate colors. I also checked if they used high-quality paper and inks that help photos last longer.

Turnaround Time: I checked how quickly each business completed orders without compromising quality. Shops with fast turnaround times or dependable rush services earned higher scores.

Customer Service: I assessed how helpful the staff was in answering questions about files, paper, and printing options. Friendly, knowledgeable service can make the whole process much easier.

Value and Pricing: I compared the prices with the quality of the finished prints. I also gave extra points to shops with clear pricing and helpful discounts or membership perks.

Turning your favorite photos into beautiful prints shouldn’t be a guessing game. Whether you’re creating a family album, decorating your home, or exploring printing services for a project, great quality matters.

Philadelphia has many print shops, and some offer t-shirt printing too. However, not all of them provide sharp images and rich colors.

I searched for the best photo printing services in Philadelphia so you can find a place you trust. Take a look at my top picks to find the right shop for your next order.

PhotoLounge is a convenient option that handles photo printing projects in-house at its Center City location, with one technician managing each order from start to finish. This gives customers a single point of contact throughout the process.

The team also keeps old family slides and other valuable materials on-site instead of sending them to another facility. For large scanning projects, it even offers free local courier pickup, making it easier to transport bulky or delicate materials.

Film photographers can join a savings club or schedule a consultation, with the consultation fee credited toward the final order. They also print on archival museum papers and offer interest-free payment plans for larger projects.

Keep in mind, consultation fees are required before seeing results, and general printing needs may require other local providers.

Pros

  • Center City location
  • Archival museum papers
  •
  • Interest-free installment options

Cons

  • Consultation fees before results
  • Limited general printing options

Great Turnaround and Easy Scans

Photo Lounge developed maybe 8 rolls of film for me, mostly color. Their turnaround time is great! It’s super easy to view and save the scans. I also appreciate their film club membership for the automatic savings and free monthly print.

Update: I also took passport pictures here and they were great! They let me take multiple shots to ensure I liked the picture. The turnaround time was fantastic.

Friendly Staff and Helpful Service

Was looking to print some wedding photos and was referred to the Photo Lounge. We went into the store initially not realizing we could have placed the entire order online, however when we went inside, the employee behind the desk was very friendly and helpful and showed us an example of the type of paper that would make the photos look their best. We placed the order online by simply uploading the photos using their website, and they were ready very fast.

2. DG Print Lab

Address: Bok Building, 1901 South 9th Street

Contact: 215-717-8280 | [email protected]

Hours: Contact for an appointment

DG Print Lab is a great choice for artists who want high-quality prints without long wait times. Located inside the historic Bok Building, the lab creates archival pigment prints using museum-grade papers with same-day or next-day completion.

Owner David Gandolfo brings creative experience from live performance photography and licensed drone work, giving each project a unique artistic touch.

Beyond traditional printing, they offer an offline mail subscription that sends physical prints from local creators directly to customers. This gives artists another way to share their work with a wider audience.

However, appointments are highly preferred, so walk-in availability is limited. Also, their focus on fine art printing may not be the best fit for customers with more general printing needs.

Pros

  • Fast same-day or next-day turnaround
  •
  • Licensed drone photography experience
  • Offline creator print subscription

Cons

  •
  • Fine art printing focus

Expert Photo Restoration and Enlargement

David is amazing! After going to Staples and enlarging/printing an old photo I realized the quality was lacking, the photo needed to be touched up from years of wear and tear and the overall attention to detail was lacking on the print side. That’s when I found out about DG Print Lab after doing diligent searches on someone who could be of service in the Philly area. David helped restore an old photo of my mom and her family that what wanted to hang in our beach house and was able to enlarge and print it for us as well!

Perfectionist Lab Technician

Dave at DG Print Lab is a perfectionist! He was when he worked at a local frame shop – putting treasured art and photos behind glass and into frames – and he is now, running his own photo finishing lab.

Unique Photo gives photographers a convenient place to shop, upgrade gear, and print photos through its large Old City flagship store.

The main draws here are the instant gear trade-in program, tested pre-owned equipment, and professional wet lab color correction using a Fuji Frontier system.

Beyond gear and printing, customers can use self-service kiosks, get official passport photos, and access certified factory camera repair services. These options make it a helpful stop for a variety of photography needs.

Keep in mind that same-day rush orders come with extra fees. Prints must also be picked up on time, as items left unclaimed for more than six months may be discarded.

Pros

  • Old City flagship storefront
  • Self-service kiosk printing
  • Certified camera repair service

Cons

  •
  • Six-month abandonment policy

Trusted Lab for Travel Photos

Unique Photo is the only place in town  I trust with my travel photos. I’ve relied on their lab tech) Andy Walker, to assist with (and in some cases, photo-edit.) several print jobs. He’s prompt, is a great communicator and clearly cares about his work. I’m not a photographer (although I do take photos), but the photos I take on my bike trips mean a lot to me. I won’t hesitate to continue going to the Andy Walker well for my future photo needs!

High Quality Prints and Paper

I requested to print out a mood board at Unique Photo and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the print and paper used. They did a beautiful job and I’m always happy to visit them at the store–absolutely recommend!

Address: 1400 N. American Street

Contact: 215-232-5678

Hours: Wednesday to Saturday 12:00 PM–6:00 PM

TILT Institute for the Contemporary Image helps artists create professional-quality prints under the guidance of experienced specialists. Fine Art Services Director Keith Yahrling also works closely with artists to help them get the best possible results.

From what I’ve seen, artists can use the DIY studio with temperature-controlled lighting walls, making it easier to check colors and fine details before printing.

There’s even more value with a large selection of premium papers and free test proofs for extra-large print orders. As a nonprofit, every purchase also helps support youth arts education and free public exhibitions.

Before booking, keep in mind that help with file preparation costs $125 per hour. The studio also doesn’t accept unscheduled walk-ins, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Pros

  • Expert fine art printing support
  •
  • Free large-format test proofs
  • Supports local arts programs

Cons

  • $125 hourly file preparation fees
  • No walk-ins

Professional Fine Art Printing

I have used Philadelphia Photo Arts Center for fine art and commercial projects since they opened. I have also been a member since their beginning. Being that my studio is in The Cranes Arts Building as well, this is an obvious convenience to start with.

My experiences have all been beyond pleasant and professional, they are helpful with technical issues, subjective decision making ( paper options, etc. ) and generally good folks to deal with.

The prints they make are of the finest quality, always exceeding expectations, their standards are nothing less than excellent.

Exceeded Expectations on Negative Scanning

So I gave Keith a chance to work on my photographs at the Photo Arts Center and his work far exceeded my expectations and clearly lived up to my hopes. He scanned 35mm, 6×6, and 5×7 negatives and produced prints comparable to prints I had printed in my darkroom. Needless to say his skill and knowledge has now shown me greater possibilities and options for my large inventory of negatives. I’ll be returning soon to have more work done. I truly recommend the quality of work.

5. Vision Graphics Picture Framing and Fine Art Printing Facility

Website: visiongraphicsonline.com

Address: 44 South 4th Street

Contact: 215-627-0279 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (By Appointment) | Saturday 11:00 AM–5:00 PM

Vision Graphics Picture Framing and Fine Art Printing Facility is a great choice for artists who need large, detailed prints with professional results.

The quality really stood out to me. They use a wide-format roller press for canvas lamination, apply UV varnish to help protect the artwork from fading, and avoid low-cost plastic frame moldings to achieve a cleaner, more polished finish.

I was impressed by their 3,000-square-foot workshop, which includes a 64-inch printer and advanced equipment for oversized projects. The owner’s focus on fair pricing and customer satisfaction also makes large print jobs feel more dependable.

The only drawback is the $50 minimum order. That makes the shop a better fit for larger projects than small print jobs.

Pros

  •
  • Fine art and canvas materials
  •
  • Fast in-house production

Cons

  • $50 order minimum
  • Less practical for small prints

Custom Printing and Fast Turnaround

Bruce did what other printers could not or would not do. I wanted a completely custom print/mounting project and Bruce knocked it out of the park and did so for an extremely reasonable cost. Super fast communication and turnaround time. The final result turned out amazing, and there’s nobody else I’ll turn to for my printing/framing needs in Philadelphia. Thank you!

Patient Expert for Passport Photos

Bruce patiently and kindly spent over an hour getting truly good US & Canadian passport photos of a baby who did not make it easy. He has specialized technology to do print and digital passport photos for all different countries and ensure they meet specifications. I would email beforehand to schedule to be sure he is on site.
