Contact: (215) 335-9090
Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM; Wednesday-Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Saturday, by appointment only
If your kids are constantly squinting at the school whiteboard, finding a clinic that focuses on early vision issues is a huge relief.
Modern Optometry stands out because Dr. Rebecca Verna, Doctor of Optometry (OD), runs a dedicated Myopia Management Clinic designed to slow down nearsightedness in children.
Besides helping the little ones, this team tackles complex adult vision issues like light sensitivity and motion sickness. They also stock a great variety of designer frames, including brands like Ray-Ban and Gucci.
The main downside is their tricky calendar. They’re closed on Fridays and Sundays, while Saturdays require an appointment, so planning ahead is a must if you want to lock in a slot.

They are super nice
Dr Haughey and her staff are amazing! They are super nice and explain everything so well. I went there after being unhappy with another doctor and was diagnosed with something that perfectly explains the problems I’ve been having with my eyesight that the other doctor seemed to have missed. Highly recommend!

Navigating vision insurance can be a massive headache, so it’s refreshing to find a spot that removes that barrier entirely.
America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses is a major retail chain location that keeps eye care accessible by never requiring vision insurance to buy your glasses or contacts.
A friend of mine actually visited this Walnut Street spot last month for a quick adjustment and said the team was super accommodating with outside prescriptions.
They also accept health savings accounts and offer flexible monthly payment setups to help you manage costs.
Just keep in mind that their lab turnaround takes a bit of time. You usually have to wait between 10 and 14 days before your new glasses are ready for pickup.

The doctor explained everything
I went in on a Saturday. My appointment was made for the following Wednesday. From the time I stepped in, the staff was super friendly, professional and prompt! My exam was done thoroughly and with care. The doctor explained everything in great detail. Selecting frames was even better. Cat with the cat glasses assisted me with insurance and payment. She rocks! I would go back solely on her positive energy and professionalism!

The doctor provided great information
This by far was the best experience I’ve ever had at an America’s Best! Everyone there was so nice and helpful. The doctor provided great information as to what would be best for my eyesight on a day to day basis, and Jenny was a huge help with checking out. Jenny helped assist me in picking the right frames and went out of her way to ensure that I was satisfied with my visit. I highly recommend going here!

Located in Rittenhouse Square, Dr. Delbert Ritchey, Optometrist, and Associates offers transparent upfront pricing for comprehensive vision checks.
Dr. Ritchey leads this team to provide reliable pediatric care for children starting at age three, alongside specialized services for low vision needs.
They make budgeting simple with clear initial fees like seventy dollars for regular eye exams, and they accept an extensive list of insurance providers to keep care affordable.
Just like visiting a local naturopath in Philadelphia to manage your wellness, keeping your eye doctor close to work is super convenient.
One thing to note is that this practice sits inside a retail Pearle Vision store instead of a standalone medical building, which may not be everyone’s preference.
Customer Reviews
He has a great demeanor
Dr Ritchey explains the parts of the exam and the results during the exam, which is appreciated. He uses the latest technology (no drops for glaucoma testing), which none of my past doctors offered, and he has a great demeanor. I would recommend him for those looking for a new doctor.

Great experience with the doctor
I had a great experience with the doctor! He is super knowledgeable and talked me through everything. I appreciated the time he gave to explain everything. The front office staff was a completely different experience. That lady hates her job and I could tell. She also said it too! Initial interaction was 🥶 cold. By the end, she was somewhat helpful.

Address: 1018 Pine Street
Contact: (215) 575-5198
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pine Vision Care focuses heavily on tech-driven eye health checks using top-tier diagnostic equipment, under the care of doctors like Julia Zyrina and Caitlin Somerville.
I went in to get my eyes mapped last season, and their advanced corneal topography system caught minor issues before they caused real problems.
They also offer specialized treatments for severe dry eyes and use unique prism corrections to fix minor eye misalignments. Taking care of your visual alignment is just as important as seeing orthopedic specialists in Philadelphia for your joints.
The catch is that you might find it tough to squeeze in a weekend visit, since their Saturday operating hours are quite short.

The optometrist was very professional
The front desk was extremely helpful scheduling my appointment and gathering information important to my visit before I arrived. Very easy to communicate with and the optometrist was very professional and spent a lot of time with me as a new patient. I highly recommend. I also was seen right at my scheduled appointment time and my medication was called in immediately for swift treatment.

My favorite optometrist
I said it in the office and I’ll say it here, Dr. Kate may be my favorite optometrist. I’d resigned myself to going to New York to see my family doctor after a string of misses with other optometrists in the city. Fortunately, I was directed to come here. Dr. Kate is personable, kind, and listened when I had concerns. She also took the time to explain potential issues I could have and did so in a way I could connect with. Will be going back to this office!

The practice stands out by offering advanced testing for local athletes to improve visual tracking, along with specialized lenses that help manage pediatric nearsightedness.
On top of that, Dr. Jerjos is fluent in Arabic, which makes multilingual care seamless for families who need it.
The catch is that you will need to do a little extra homework before you arrive if you plan to use a flexible spending account (FSA). They require you to confirm your eligibility directly with your benefits administrator first.
