I love finding the perfect present for people, but tracking down something truly special can be a real headache. Whenever I need a unique local keepsake or a gorgeous handmade item, I always skip the massive online retailers.
Finding the best gift shop in Philadelphia means looking for spots that showcase our city’s incredible creative spirit and local neighborhood pride.
I spent weeks exploring different neighborhoods to find the ultimate storefronts that offer everything from quirky sports gear to beautiful artisan crafts. These local boutiques make it incredibly easy to find a meaningful treat for anyone on your list.
How much do gift shop items cost in Philadelphia?

| Item Type | Price Range |
| Small Souvenirs & Keepsakes | Under $10 |
| Mid-Range Artisan Crafts & Candles | $10 – $50 |

If you want to show off your hometown pride, Open House Store is a must-visit Midtown Village destination.
The founders, Valerie Safran and Chef Marcie Turney, helped transform this neighborhood into a bustling hotspot. Their local roots are evident through their collection of handpicked, trendy designs.
With their city center location, you can easily grab clever, ready-to-ship gift boxes to surprise your friends.
But you should know that the cozy physical layout gets tightly packed and crowded during peak weekend hours.

Definitely worth a visit
Open House is a perfect spot if you’re looking for unique souvenirs in Philadelphia. The store has a wide variety of Philly-themed items, from fun trinkets and home accessories to locally made gifts and artisan products.
It’s a great place to find something special to bring back home, whether for yourself or as a thoughtful gift. The staff is friendly, and the shop has a cozy, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you want souvenirs that are more creative and personal than the usual tourist shops.

2. Philadelphia Independents

- Website: https://www.philadelphiaindependents.com/
Address: 35 N. 3rd Street - Contact: 267-773-7316 | [email protected]
- Schedule: Monday – Saturday 11 AM – 7:00 PM; Sunday 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Finding a completely authentic souvenir in the heart of Old City is easy at the award-winning Philadelphia Independents.
While exploring the neighborhood and checking out nearby free museums, I popped in and chatted with the owners about their local, handmade items. As it turned out, they bring over 50 makers under one roof, giving instant access to Philly culture goods.
You can discover quirky fan gear and custom neighborhood maps here.
But keep in mind the historic storefront has a limited physical space that bottlenecks during tourist seasons.
Securing street parking nearby is heavily constrained and often requires expensive paid garages, too.

The prices are fair for the artisanal crafted pieces
A small gem of a shop that sells local made art, household gifts and local screen printed shirts & tote bags. The prices are fair for the artisanal crafted pieces offered, and they will have that perfect ‘philly’ gift for those who are hard to shop gifts for.

Very nice souvenir shop
I arrived too early for check-in and was looking for a luggage storage and luckily I found this place. When I entered I immediately understood that I could rest easy for my luggage because I was welcomed by a very nice and kind young lady. The luggage storage service is offered in this very nice souvenir shop where there are very particular things different from the usual souvenir shops with a really kind service.

3. VIX Emporium

- Website: https://vixemporium.com/
Address: 5009 Baltimore Avenue - Contact: 215-471-7700
- Hours: Wednesday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 6:30 PM; Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sundays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Heading out to West Philly brings you to this beloved Cedar Park fixture with an amazing, nostalgic atmosphere.
VIX Emporium is set inside a converted 1940s hat shop that still uses original vintage cabinetry. They offer a strict USA-made selection of unique local treats like West Philly nail polish and custom jewelry.
Also, their community roots include organizing the bi-annual West Philly Craft Fest.
But you should plan your trip carefully because they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
On top of that, finding parking on Baltimore Avenue is tough since a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) trolley line runs straight down the middle.

Nice gift ideas
Cute store with nice gift ideas! I purchased a West Philly T-shirt a few years ago and always wanted to revisit. I finally had an opportunity and purchased a necklace that I love. I’m definitely going back!

An immense array of gift items waiting to be discovered
Walking into Hello World Modern Mercantile was such a visual delight! I had first read about the store online where information found on the website suggested shopping in person would offer the fullest selection. So true! There is an immense array of gift items waiting to be discovered, so much so that I walked around the store several times. I did not want to overlook anything. The staff are terrific, and the store is an easy walk from 30th Street Station. Be sure to check it out!

Awesome variety of cute items
Awesome variety of cute items to put together a care package or assemble a nice gift. Went to put together a box of goodies for a friend and was able to get a great assortment of items (blanket, ultra soft pumpkin, candle, etc) for about $100.

They specialize in fine-art curation, offering unusual treasures alongside their own exclusive, in-house designed stationery line.
You can explore two physical storefronts right next to each other for gifts and party supplies.
But navigating the narrow, historic layout can feel a bit tight during busy weekend shopping rushes.
On top of that, you will have to rely entirely on competitive metered street parking down South 4th Street.

Many eye-catching items
Wandered in here on a Sunday and absolutely loved it! Artistically curated pieces at affordable prices. I snagged the last panoramic Halloween puzzle and an adorable wedding card. Ordinarily I lose interest in gift shop stores but this one had many eye-catching items, I wanted so much for myself!
