5 Best Concrete Contractors in Philadelphia for Solid Builds

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Safety and Certification: We looked heavily into the credentials and safety records of every local crew. Working with fully certified professionals ensures that large pours happen without dangerous on-site accidents.
  •
  • Range of Capabilities: It was important to evaluate whether a company could handle both minor residential patches and massive corporate structural foundations. Versatility means a contractor can easily pivot if a project's scope suddenly changes mid-pour.
  •
  • Pricing Transparency: We prioritized companies that offer upfront, detailed estimates instead of vague numbers scribbled on the back of a business card. Clear financial terms prevent homeowners from getting hit with unexpected surcharges later.
  •
  • Timeline Reliability: Delays are the biggest headache in any exterior renovation, so we focused on crews known for hitting their target completion dates. Finding contractors who mobilize early to beat the summer heat was a major factor in our final ranking.

Let’s face it, finding reliable professionals to handle your property’s exterior is never an easy task. Whether you’re dealing with a cracked driveway or planning a massive commercial lot overhaul, securing the right team is crucial to the safety and longevity of your building.

You need crews that show up on time, pour with precision, and clean up when the job is done.

Tackling a major structural project requires a crew that prioritizes job site security above all else. During my recent consultation with a local developer, they explicitly praised MARK Cement Contractors for their official OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certifications, which guarantee a secure environment during heavy construction.

Operating as a family-run business for over four decades, this team brings a level of deep foundation and excavation expertise that goes way beyond basic flatwork.

Their portfolio is highly impressive, showcasing massive corporate work for major brands while maintaining a reputation for spotless construction zones. You can also trust that they source authentic, high-grade materials rather than cutting corners with cheap mixtures.

However, their strong focus on multi-phase commercial projects means individual homeowners booking smaller residential repairs might face longer scheduling queues during the peak summer season.

Pros

  • High-profile commercial capability
  • Spotless construction zones
  • High-grade material sourcing
  • Dependable 40-year track record

Cons

  • Longer wait times for residential repairs
  • Peak summer scheduling delays

Revamping an old, cracked driveway doesn’t necessarily mean you have to endure a messy and expensive complete tear-out. Following a strict “Five P’s” methodology—proper planning prevents poor performance—Prestige Concrete Contractors emphasizes meticulous scheduling before a single drop of cement is poured.

They’re highly adept at restoring existing surfaces and building complex, site-specific architectural elements like custom curbs or grand terraced entryways.

Beyond standard gray flatwork, their crew delivers premium decorative designs like stamped and etched finishes at surprisingly cost-efficient price points.

I appreciate that their team handles integrated masonry using interlocking pavers, which pairs nicely if you’re also bringing in exterior painting services to completely refresh your property’s curb appeal.

The only downside is that they operate strictly as a dispatch-based business, so there isn’t a public retail showroom to browse their stamped patterns in person.

Pros

  • Driveway restoration experts
  • Terraced entryway specialists
  • Integrated masonry capabilities
  • Budget-conscious pricing

Cons

  • No public retail showroom

Customer Reviews:

The price was reasonable for the work involved.

Prestige did an excellent job in removing and replacing 5 sidewalk slabs that were damaged by tree roots. The estimator came when promised and provided an estimate the next day.The price was reasonable for the work involved. Per our request, they delayed laying the fresh concrete to avoid doing it on a rainy day. Several neighbors stopped by to admire the new sidewalk sections and get their company info.

These guys will always do my concrete work.

Manny and his guys were extremely professional. I spoke with Manny on Friday and by Monday, everything was completed. I appreciate how responsive and quick he was with his business. I also appreciated how informative about the process, Manny was. Any question I asked was answered. These guys will always do my concrete work.

Because they’re centrally located on South Sydenham Street, J&J Cement Contractors easily services tightly packed blocks while committing to deeply traditional, old-world structural techniques.

When I hired them to assess a sinking patio slab, I was thoroughly impressed by their 7:00 AM mobilization, which allowed the crew to prep and pour long before the midday heat hit.

This company prioritizes longevity and rigorous soil grading over cheap, temporary aesthetic fixes. They even offer dedicated Saturday operational hours, providing major flexibility for homeowners who are stuck at the office during the regular workweek.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that their heavy-duty excavation equipment can occasionally cause temporary rutting to delicate grass or topsoil during the intensive pouring process.

  • Highly localized urban logistics
  • Focus on long-term durability
  • Comprehensive site preparation

Cons

  • Temporary landscaping disruption risk

Very fair with their price.

Wow! This company is great, as well as their staff!! I had gotten a few estimates, and this company was very fair, with their price. And what a beautiful job, on laying the concrete in my drive way. Ron was so nice to work with, and his staff were very friendly. I would definitely get them again for any future projects.

Highly recommended.

I called a few companies in the Philadelphia area to get a quote on rebuilding the steps. Most companies were asking for $600+ for each 4inch step, Philly concrete gave a more reasonable estimates so I went with them for the job. The experience was great , job was done quickly, professionally and I can tell the owner, Ron (if I remember correctly) , is an honest and great guy. Highly recommended
