Walking into a kitchen with dated, worn-out cabinets can drag down the whole home, but replacing everything isn’t always realistic. That’s why cabinet painting in Philadelphia is a smart way to get a cleaner, high-end look without a full remodel.
Whether you’re refreshing your own kitchen or getting a rental ready for new tenants, professional cabinet painters can make worn doors, frames, and finishes feel new again.
I looked at local companies that focus on smooth finishes, clear pricing, and work that feels practical for real homes.
How much does cabinet painting cost in Philadelphia?
A typical kitchen refresh in this city usually falls between $750 and $950, though high-end materials or extensive repairs can shift that final number.
| Cost Category | Estimated Rate |
| General Project Range | $413 – $1,465 |
| Per Square Foot | $3 – $10 |
| Per Linear Foot | $30 – $60 |
| Professional Labor | $20 – $60 per hour |
1. Philadelphia Lawless Painting

Website: https://philadelphiacabinetpainter.com/
Address: 2018 Christian St
Contact: (267) 271-5865
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Philadelphia Lawless Painting feels like a strong pick if you want a cabinet specialist rather than a general crew that happens to paint doors on the side.
The company is owned by Drew Lawless, and its process is built around cabinet refinishing instead of broad house painting.
I liked that they use a dedicated off-site facility for prep and painting because it keeps a lot of dust, odor, and spray work out of the home.
Plus, their spray technology is aimed at a smooth, factory-style finish, which is exactly what most homeowners want from a kitchen refresh.
This is one of the more focused painting services in Philadelphia if cabinet finish quality matters more than a broad remodel package.
Since they mainly handle kitchen cabinetry, however, they may not be the best match if you want one contractor for a larger whole-home renovation. Still, their satisfaction guarantee makes the investment feel safer.

Fantastic job repainting my kitchen cabinets
Jenna did a fantastic job repainting my kitchen cabinets. It doesn’t even look the same kitchen! From the get go she was responsive, professional, thorough, and really went above and beyond – I knew my kitchen was in excellent hands from our first meeting. Her background as an electrician was also incredibly helpful as she noticed a safety issue with my stove that would have gone completely overlooked otherwise. I can’t recommend Jenna and Lawless Painting highly enough!

2. PAINT Philadelphia

Address: 1516 N 5th St #316
Contact: (267) 435-2968
Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
PAINT Philadelphia is the kind of option I would consider if color decisions are slowing the whole project down.
Andrew Tomasetti built the company around an “On Time, On Dime” guarantee, and the complimentary design and color consultations make that feel more useful than just a slogan.
I also like that they provide physical test samples before the final application. That can save you from choosing a white that suddenly looks gray once it hits your kitchen lighting.
Plus, they use eco-conscious low-volatile organic compound (VOC) and zero-VOC options, which is reassuring for homes with kids or pets.
The main catch is the timeline. Cabinet projects can run 3 to 7 days, so you’ll need to plan around limited kitchen access for part of the week.

Did an excellent job
The team did an excellent job with our cabinet painting and interior painting project. They finished in a timely manner, provided me with daily updates, and left the space cleaner than they found it. I would definitely recommend Paint Philly.

Highly recommend
Cannot say enough about the quality of work and the professionalism of Andrew, Becca, Brian and the team. Our kitchen cabinet paint job was started last Monday and completely done by Wednesday giving us a whole new kitchen. They team tented off the center of the house and kept the work inside the area not disturbing any other portion of the house. Will update before and after photos once my countertops are in. But for now highly recommend!

3. Groovy Hues Painting of Philadelphia

Website: https://www.groovyhues.com/
Address: 2424 E York St #100p
Contact: (267) 805-8383
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Groovy Hues Painting of Philadelphia is a good fit if the mess of sanding and spraying worries you most. They use a climate-controlled spray booth, so doors and drawer fronts can be finished off-site instead of filling the kitchen with dust.
That setup is especially helpful in older Philadelphia homes where cabinet surfaces may need more careful prep.
Their team also handles basic carpentry repairs, which can save you from calling someone else for minor hinge or wood issues before painting starts.
The drawback is that doors and drawer fronts have to be removed and transported to the shop. Your cabinet frames may be exposed for a few days, which can look rough while the work is underway.
Still, the two-year warranty and zero-percent financing options add some reassurance. After the work is done, brighter windows can help show off the finish, so I would also keep local window washers in Philadelphia in mind.

They look incredible
I had my kitchen cabinets and interior walls painted by Matthew’s team. They look incredible. The team was really kind, meticulous and answered all of my questions. Matthew’s communication is great – very timely and he consistently checks in throughout the project. He was also able to squeeze me in on a really tight timeline which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend hiring Matthew and his team for your next project!

4. That 1 Painter Philadelphia

Website: https://that1painter.com/
Address: 4138 Market St
Contact: (484) 418-4120
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
That 1 Painter Philadelphia stands out for having more of a community-minded feel than the average home service company.
Its “Paint It Forward” program supports families in need, and that gives the brand a warmer edge without taking away from the practical work.
For cabinet projects, I liked the combination of upfront pricing and access to a professional color studio. That’s helpful when you want guidance but still need a clear number before agreeing to the job.
They also run background checks on service technicians, which matters when a crew will be working inside your home for several days.
The downside is scheduling because the process can take a few days from consultation through cleanup. Also, Saturday hours are limited compared with weekday availability.

5. Clean Hands Painting LLC

Website: https://www.cleanhandspaintingllc.com/
Address: Bala Cynwyd
Contact: (610) 850-7059
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Clean Hands Painting LLC is the most interesting option here if your cabinets are metal or your property has surfaces that take constant wear.
Their electrostatic painting process uses an electric charge to help coatings bond more evenly and durably than a basic brush application.
That makes them a practical choice for restoration work, rental properties, and fixtures that need more than a cosmetic touch-up. I also like that they offer related services such as tub reglazing and carpentry, so larger refreshes can stay under one provider.
However, the tradeoff is location and coordination. Their administrative office is in Bala Cynwyd, so city projects may need more scheduling back-and-forth. They also seem better suited to larger surface restoration jobs than very small cabinet touch-ups.
