1. Minnow Lane

Website: minnowlane.com
Address: 2029 Frankford Avenue
Contact: (215) 291-1875 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday, Sunday 12:00 PM–5:00 PM | Wednesday to Saturday 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
Minnow Lane makes sustainable baby shopping feel easy from the moment you walk into its cozy Fishtown boutique.
I noticed that shelves are filled with ethically sourced, organic, and non-toxic products, giving parents extra peace of mind as they get ready for a newborn.
The shop also brings local families together by hosting weekly workshops and support groups.
The consignment program is worth a highlight, too! It makes it easier to manage outgrown clothes. On top of that, money from unsold items helps pay for free community classes.
However, the consignment program accepts only children’s clothing for ages up to 5. They also won’t take bulky strollers or large nursery furniture, so you’ll need another place to sell bigger baby gear.

Friendly Staff and Unique Baby Gifts
Love this store! The staff is always so nice and helpful. I also love that they sell some unique Philly baby items. They helped me think through some great gifts for a friend who is due in a couple of months. I wanted gifts that could be appropriate at any early age, wouldn’t take up too much space, and were something that “only I” would pick out. I found so many adorable gifts from toys to books to bath time products. Honestly, it’s kind of hard not to go overboard in here.

Easy Shopping for Baby Essentials
I always enjoy shopping here with/for my little one. The layout is so nice (easy to navigate with a stroller), and the store smells wonderful (something I’ve always noticed when I first walk in). This was the first shop that came to when I found out that I was pregnant a little over a year ago, and they continue to have a good selection of newborn outfits. There is also a nice selection of baby and toddler clothing from Colored Organics.

2. Nesting House – Mt. Airy

Website: nestinghouse.com
Address: 542 Carpenter Lane
Contact: (215) 438-1600 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM | Sunday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
Nesting House – Mt. Airy makes eco-friendly shopping simple with a smart system that offers both new and gently used baby items.
From what I’ve seen, parents can build a flexible baby registry that mixes secondhand finds with brand-new essentials, and friends can even help by paying for meal drop-offs.
Another great feature is the cloth diaper program, which includes free workshops and a risk-free trial for beginners.
The team even offers a rotating home pickup service for bulky gear like high chairs and strollers.
However, the store follows strict buying rules that change with the seasons, so it may not accept everything you bring in. Plus, home pickup is only available on certain days, and in selected neighborhoods, so it’s best to plan ahead.

Great Selection of Eco-Friendly Items
Our family really enjoys this store! It is a great place to find cloth diapers and a wide variety of other eco-friendly baby items. We always enjoy looking through their thrift section in the back. We’ve had plenty of good finds such as second-hand glass bottles, good condition hardcover books, and wooden toys. I also purchased a Mushie wrap here that I use quite often. The staff is helpful and kind. All in all, we enjoy patronizing this business even though it is about an hour away from where we live

3. Villavillekula

Website: pippisvillavillekula.com
Address: 8419 Germantown Ave.
Contact: (215) 242-0200 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Tuesday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM | Wednesday to Saturday 10:00 AM–5:30 PM | Sunday 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
Villavillekula is a great spot to find a baby shower gift that feels unique and memorable.
What makes it stand out is its cheerful Chestnut Hill shop, filled with unique clothes, toys, and custom accessories for children up to age eight. The owner even checks the inside of each piece of clothing to make sure it’s soft enough for sensitive skin.
I love that many items here are handmade by local craftswomen and grandmothers, so each product has a personal touch.
Plus, the store is open seven days a week, making weekend shopping easy for busy families.
However, it closes by early evening every day, so late shopping isn’t an option. It also focuses on boutique items instead of low-cost basics or bulk onesies.

Cute Store with Friendly Staff
A very cute kids store with an extremely friendly staff! My children range from preschooler to tween and I’m able to find toys for all of them at Villavillekula. The store also has great Philly themed items. I’m so happy Villavillekula is part of the northwest Philly community!

4. Everland

Website: shopeverland.com
Address: 529 S 4th St.
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Wednesday to Friday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM | Saturday to Sunday 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
Everland helps busy parents by combining a high-quality baby shop, a quiet coworking area, and a supervised indoor play space. While little ones enjoy the beautiful 1,000-square-foot play space here, caregivers can also catch up on work nearby.
The shop also offers carefully chosen sustainable products, including upcycled socks, silicone suction plates, and age-specific book subscription bundles.
Because of this, it’s easy to see why creative agencies in Philadelphia might visit to get new ideas for community engagement.
On the downside, they don’t sell big nursery items like cribs or strollers, so it’s not ideal for building a full baby registry. Also, the space is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays, as those days are members-only.

Wonderful Community and Parenting Support
I feel so lucky that Everland opened in my neighborhood. It has been the most wonderful place to have my toddler play while I get to meet other parents & build community. The classes and events have been wonderful – favorites include postpartum baby & me yoga, toddler dance, bab-wearing dance and the Motherhood Collective evenings. I cannot imagine parenting without Everland!

Organized Baby and Me Classes
One of the highlights for our family has been the baby and me classes. These sessions are wonderfully organized and provide a perfect opportunity for caregivers to bond with their little ones. The designated play space is another fantastic feature, allowing children to explore and play in a safe and stimulating environment.

5. Baby Gear Group

Website: babygeargroupphilly.com/gear-philadelphia
Address: 2323 Race St.
Contact: (248) 660-0818 | [email protected]
Hours: Contact for availability
Baby Gear Group makes it easy to avoid filling your home with baby gear that your child quickly outgrows.
I noticed that rather than buying everything, families can rent premium items from trusted brands like UPPAbaby and BabyBjörn, then swap them when they’re no longer needed.
Another plus is that the savings protection guarantee means you’ll never pay more than half the item’s retail price during your subscription.
The service even delivers and picks up gear from your doorstep, saving trips across Center City. Plus, you can trade in gently used baby gear to earn membership credits.
However, refundable deposits can be expensive depending on your plan. The highest-end gear is only available through the most expensive monthly subscription, so it may not suit families who need just one premium item.

Helpful Rental Service for Baby Gear
We rented a few items for our 3 month old that we knew would be temporary needs (swing, age specific toys) and a few that we wanted to pilot before buying (noise machine, ring sling). Baby Gear Group was helpful, responsive, and the items were in great condition. We’ll be using again!

Excellent Choice for New Parents
We rented from the Baby Gear Group for our new baby. As new parents, we were overwhelmed by the variety of infant gear options. Our doula recommended renting a few items before purchasing. I’m glad we took her advice. Excellent choice for new parents who are unclear of what to buy or whether their baby will love the equipment. Also beneficial to the environment!
