We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Cleaning Quality and Fabric Care: We evaluated how effectively each cleaner removes stains while protecting delicate materials. Businesses that employ specialized techniques for sensitive fabrics scored much higher on our list.

Turnaround Time: Quick processing is essential for office workers and event attendees needing their clothes back fast. We favored shops that offer rapid emergency services or reliable overnight options.

Pricing and Value: Transparency in cost prevents unexpected fees when picking up a freshly cleaned suit. We looked for cleaners offering clear rates and fair discounts for regular patrons.

Convenience and Services: Mobile lifestyles demand flexible pickup schedules and easy delivery routes. We noted companies that provide custom care instructions and simple dropping-off procedures.

Reputation and Customer Feedback: A consistent track record of positive community feedback indicates dependable service. We verified that local residents routinely trust these shops with their everyday wear and special heirloom garments.

Finding a reliable spot to care for your favorite garments can feel like a gamble. A minor stain on a silk blouse or a tailored suit that needs a quick press requires careful hands and consistent attention to detail.

Whether you are maintaining weekly work outfits or preserving a delicate evening gown, getting the best dry cleaning in Philadelphia ultimately comes down to trusting the right professionals with your fabrics.

In a similar way, many people also rely on cleaning services and maid agencies to keep their homes in order because consistency and attention to detail matter just as much in garment care as they do in home care.

That’s why we looked around the city for garment care specialists that actually deliver on their promises of crisp finishes and spotless results. Here are some of the most consistent and highly rated dry cleaners in Philadelphia

The shop also leans into eco-friendly cleaning methods while still handling bulkier household items like comforters and large bedding alongside everyday clothing

I recently used them for a set of heavy winter comforters, and the unattended porch pickup option made the whole process surprisingly easy to fit into a packed schedule.

The reusable laundry bags were also a nice touch, especially since you can leave detailed fabric-care instructions directly inside for more delicate items.

We also appreciate the transparent pricing model that skips hidden upcharges. You can also leave highly specific fabric care notes right inside the free reusable laundry bags they provide.

One downside to keep in mind is the strict timeline for reporting any garment issues. You’re forced to submit a formal complaint within a rigid seven-day window.

The shop covers a wide range of services, including tailoring and formalwear adjustments. They can even do bridal gown preservation using specialized heirloom storage boxes designed to protect delicate fabrics long-term.

One thing customers consistently appreciate is the versatility of materials. They regularly work with more difficult fabrics like suede and leather, which not every neighborhood cleaner is equipped to handle safely.

A friend who needed a rushed suit hem before an event mentioned their turnaround was impressively quick and professionally finished.

Incredible Experience with Speedy Alterations

I’ve never had such a great experience with a dry cleaner/tailor. I’m in town for a wedding and needed my jumpsuit for this evening hemmed same day. I showed up at 8:45am, it was ready by 1pm and the two loveliest ladies working there were understanding and happy to help me!  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place! Thank you!

Great Results with Difficult Fabrics

I’ve been really happy with the few times I’ve been here for both regular dry cleaning and alterations.

My dry cleaning always comes out great, especially with my linen dress shirts that can sometimes be a pain to iron.

Special Care for Sentimental Pieces

I brought two very old but special pieces that I love. They aren’t valuable enough for the expensive dry clean but I got them washed with special care. I am so happy!!!!

I have my two great small rugs and my wallet in tact! Very appreciative and I’d recommend this place to everyone!

Consistently Beautiful Alterations and Service

I have used U Do It for years, personally and for my clients. Dry cleaning is always right on schedule, they help with tough jobs & always with a smile. I’ve had jeans mended, bride’s maid dress (that was a disaster to begin with) altered beautifully! I take my throw pillows seasonally, they smell so clean! Very happy with U Do It & I always recommend them!

5. Riff Tailoring & Dry Cleaning

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00AM–7:00PM | Saturday 9:00AM–6:00PM

Riff Tailoring & Dry Cleaning has spent more than three decades building a reputation around careful, detail-focused garment care. This makes them a reliable choice for customers who want delicate fabrics handled with a gentler touch.

The shop emphasizes modern organic cleaning methods designed to protect materials over time rather than exposing them to harsher traditional processes.

Their team works on everything from everyday office wear to high-end formal garments.

Customers who come in regularly also benefit from dependable weekly promotions that make premium cleaning services more affordable over time.

Another thing that stands out is how seriously management takes customer satisfaction. They put noticeable effort into resolving disputes clearly and maintaining consistent communication.

The main thing to keep in mind is that the weekly specials are fairly narrow in scope. Promotional pricing usually applies only to select cleaning services and does not extend to tailoring, alterations, or standard wash-and-fold laundry.

  • Accessible pricing for premium results
  • Open communication for dispute resolution

Cons

  • Limited scope for weekly discounts

White Coat Restored to Brand New

I had bumped against an extremely dirty wall and I thought my white coat was completely ruined. Until I dropped it off at Riff for dry cleaning and they completely restored my coat, making it look brand new! They also removed some makeup stains on the front collar of the coat. The owner was friendly and efficient. Very satisfied with my experience and will be returning!

Friendly Professional and High Quality Work

I’ve tried a few dry cleaners in Philly, once I found Riff I haven’t gone to another. I’ve been here for dry cleaning and tailoring plenty of times and it always comes out great. Also, Rita is the best, she’s super friendly and welcoming and explains everything clearly.
