Address: 6709 Frankford Ave.
Contact: (215) 624-4200
Hours: Available 24/7
McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. is the only one in the city that has their own onsite crematory, so your relative never leaves their direct care.
The staff is also willing to travel anywhere you need, helping you hold a service at their facility or at a local house of worship.
If you want something more simple, they’ve got an affordable package for viewing and cremation that skips embalming completely.
On top of that, their team takes care of all the paperwork, like filing the state death certificate and setting up a digital obituary.
One family we spoke with shared how reassuring it was to know their loved one stayed with the same team the entire time.
Just keep in mind their system uses numbers to identify remains, which some find impersonal at such a sensitive time.
Overall they did a great job
Our family used McCafferty for my grandmother’s viewing and cremation. My grandmother looked so peaceful and very much like herself. Her nails were even painted!
Koryn was great, very attentive and checked on us often. The other staff who were present (I didn’t get their names) were also wonderful. The weather was horrendous today with rain and high winds and one gentleman offered to carry things to our car and even brought my car to the front of the building.
Overall they did a great job. I would highly recommend them to other families.

So much patience, understanding, and professionalism
Dealt with Koryn McCafferty – it was an honest, absolute delight, at such a challenging time in life. She made everything so easy and worry free. We didn’t need much, a simple, inexpensive cremation. But we were treated like we spent a million bucks. Even late at night, when I asked for a minor update to the published obituary, she made the change immediately. Koryn and company helped us through the entire process with so much patience, understanding and professionalism. These are really good people who really do care.

Philadelphia Cremations focuses on direct cremations with a simple, flat rate of $995. This option is more eco-friendly, since it lowers the carbon footprint compared to a traditional burial.
You don’t have to worry about buying an expensive casket either because they use simple, respectful containers.
You can even handle all the arrangements online right from home! Everything is designed to keep things clear and upfront for families.
When we spoke with their team, they explained that their modern facility gives families the rare chance to stay present during the actual cremation process, which many find comforting and meaningful.
However, a few families say that sometimes updates from staff aren’t very consistent.
Additionally, there can be delays when shipping the remains, which could change the timing of your memorial plans.
Were prompt in executing the cremation
Maureen and Jasman were exceptionally helpful in this difficult time. Being 750 miles away made it more difficult but they handled it professionally. My two sisters were also impressed, one from Chicago , the other from Columbus,OH. They were prompt in executing the cremation, and the price was good. They answered all the questions we had and were very helpful throughout the entire process.

Everyone I spoke to was compassionate and helpful
Erika and the staff at Philadelphia Cremations were so helpful during one of the worst times in my life.
Erika checked in on me and helped me with questions and making sure everything was filled out correctly. Erika communicated with me and helped to keep things moving when snags happened at the medical examiner’s office.
I highly recommend Philadelphia Cremations, they also never tried to upsell me on my family member’s wishes. Erika, John, & everyone I spoke to was compassionate and helpful.

Their staff is certified by the Cremation Association of North America (CANA), so you know everything meets a high standard.
It’s also a comforting place to gather, with a setting that makes it easy for relatives to share memories and spend time together.
That said, their starting prices can be a bit higher than other local providers.
Also, some clients have mentioned they weren’t fully satisfied with the phone support they received.
Nothing but professionalism and kindness every step of the way
We can’t begin to explain just how wonderful the people and services are at DVCC. From making plans and having the cremation/memorial; nothing but professionalism and kindness every step of the way. Everyone from parking staff, bartenders, servers and office staff did a fantastic job with our memorial and we were beyond grateful for the patience and support they provided.

Uniformly exceptional
I had the unfortunate experience of requiring cremation services for two close family members within six months. My interactions with Delaware Valley Cremation Center were uniformly exceptional. The staff, especially Nick and Jess, were thorough, thoughtful, efficient, and made an extremely difficult time as smooth as possible. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

Hours: Available 24/7
Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home combines the tradition of a full viewing or prayer service with the option for cremation, so families don’t have to choose between the two.
Their scheduling is very flexible, which really helps if you’re waiting for out-of-town friends and relatives to arrive.
Plus, you can personalize the service even more with custom tribute videos and memory displays, adding special touches that mean a lot.
When we spoke with their coordinators, we noticed how much they value open conversations, making sure each memorial reflects a loved one’s unique life, interests, and personality.
Just be aware that their starting package is $2,495, and you’ll need to pay extra for the third-party crematory fee. This means your final cost will be higher than the base price.
A tremendous ease in the cremation process
Brian and his team from Murphy Ruffenach and Brian Donnelly Funeral Home were so compassionate and provided a tremendous ease in the cremation process of our sister after her passing in October. Especially since we were dealing with having to arrange all of the details out of state and being 3 hours away from the hospital in Philadelphia. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this funeral home for all your cremation and burial needs.

Saved us thousands of dollars to have him cremated 2 hours away
My Dad passed away in New Orleans. Brian took all the stress away from arranging my Father’s funeral. Brian immediately stepped in to save us thousands of dollars to have him cremated 2 hours away. He arranged transportation of the cremains to Philly. On service day Brian and his team really provided concierge service. It is not surprising he has solid 5 star reviews. I can’t thank Brian enough!

Website: https://www.greaterphiladelphiacremation.com/
Address: 746 Kedron Ave., Morton
Contact: 610-340-1545
Hours: Available 24/7
Managing unexpected final expenses is a common stressor for families trying to arrange a respectful send-off. Fortunately, Greater Philadelphia Cremation provides an affordable, peaceful alternative.
They offer direct cremations starting at an itemized flat rate of $979, which is a huge help for many struggling families.
We also appreciate that their certified funeral directors provide professional guidance throughout a simple five-step path. This includes immediate notification, secure transport, and private cremation services.
The process is convenient too. You can easily complete all documentation online, from making digital payments to selecting necessary merchandise.
They even handle the complete death registration and permit processing to lower your administrative burden during a difficult week.
That said, some families have encountered uncommunicated delays when trying to secure free certificates through the VA (Veterans Affairs) program. This has sadly forced them to buy standard copies upfront.
A great job with handling the process of cremation of my sister
GPC did a great job with handling the process of cremation of my sister. They were prompt with the pick up of her body. The timing of procedure was reasonable as well as the pricing. The rep Jen was friendly, very professional and on point. She kept me a breast during the whole process and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend GPC for your cremation needs.
em to any grieving pet parent.
