These 5 Labs Always Deliver the Best Blood Tests in Philadelphia

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Location accessibility. I checked how easy it is to reach each facility using public transit or finding a decent parking spot nearby. Nobody wants to hunt for a spot when they are fasting for an early morning lab draw.

Testing efficiency. I looked closely at standard wait times and overall clinic organization to make sure you get in and out quickly. Your time is valuable, so I prioritized places that keep things moving smoothly.

Pricing transparency. I evaluated how clearly each laboratory outlines its out-of-pocket fees and insurance options before your appointment. Avoiding unexpected medical bills is a top priority for anyone managing their healthcare costs.

Booking flexibility. I examined whether these labs accommodate simple walk-ins or convenient mobile visits. Having flexible ways to book makes it much easier to fit essential health tracking into a busy schedule.

Taking charge of your physical health can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to understand your baseline wellness or monitor an ongoing condition.

Navigating the medical system in the city should not add extra stress when all you need are clear and timely answers.

From routine checkups guided by a local naturopath to standard employer screening requirements, the right clinic can make the process faster, smoother, and far less stressful.

To make things easier, I researched the most reliable options for the best blood tests in Philadelphia. Below are the clinics that stood out for delivering efficient service and a straightforward patient experience.

How much does a blood test cost in Philadelphia?

A blood test in Philadelphia costs anywhere from $29 for standard baseline checks to around $115 for extensive panel evaluations.

Test TypeEstimated Cost Range

If you want complete control over your health data, avoiding the usual medical bottlenecks is an absolute lifesaver.

Quest Diagnostics lets you bypass the doctor entirely by purchasing over 150 independent tests directly online from their massive catalog of 3,500 options.

When I used them for a basic screening, I loved that I could easily combine my self-purchased lab orders with a standard employer-required test during one quick appointment.

They also pull all your samples at once to save you an extra visit. You even get a free follow-up consultation with an independent provider.

That said, the early 3:30 PM weekday closing time is a bit of a letdown for people working standard office hours. Walk-ins also get pushed down the list if scheduled patients show up.

Pros

  • Massive catalog of 3,500 tests
  • Direct online purchasing available
  • Unified sample collection sessions
  • Free post-test expert consultations

Cons

  •
  • Walk-ins deprioritized over appointments

One Of The Best Blood Collection Lab Technicians

The Female Lab Technician Who Waited On Me, Was One Of The Best Blood Collection Lab Technicians I Ever Had Experienced.. Very Polite And Experienced In Her Job Performance. I didn’t even feel the slightest pinch of the needle when she drew my blood samples..No needle prick brussing either.

The phlebotomist is extremely good

They run a tight ship at this location! I mistakenly showed up late to my appointment, but was able to set up a new one and be seen almost immediately. The phlebotomist is extremely good at her job, I have never had a quicker and more comfortable blood sample collected.

Skipping the typical clinic waiting rooms becomes effortless when you choose a facility focused entirely on direct consumer autonomy.

You can order your own wellness panels without a physician’s sign-off. They also offer unique specialties like serum tears for dry eyes or qualitative human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) pregnancy tests.

The team brings decades of combined experience to the table, handling everything from standard health tracking to complex workplace programs.

They even provide mobile concierge draws and accept Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for their comprehensive annual checks.

Just keep in mind that ARCpoint Labs operates purely as a diagnostic facility. They will not provide medical interpretation if your gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) liver enzyme levels look strange.

You will also need to pay upfront flat fees since they don’t process traditional health insurance for standalone walk-ins.

Pros

  • Direct consumer testing options
  • Transparent upfront web pricing
  • Accessible central transit location
  • Mobile corporate collection services

Cons

  • No on-site medical interpretation
  • Insurance is not billed directly

I highly recommend this place!

I had some blood work that needed to be done. It was a kit that had been given to me by an integrative health doctor.  I just needed a phlebotomist to do it, but everywhere I went (pcp, labcorp, Qwest diagnostics) no one would do it. I was going to have to pay  $180 for a traveling phlebotomist todo it in home, but then I found ARCpoint. Way cheaper and they were super flexible with the scheduling. The person that actually drew the blood samples was veru friendly, personable, and made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

The experience was great

First time to this lab and the experience was great. I was late for my  appointment due to a lengthy visit to Wills Eye. The staff was accommodating, thankfully since I had come from NJ for this visit. The blood draw was painless, the people professional, friendly and helpful. My plasma serum was packaged with great care for my train ride home, and all instructions explained. I’d highly recommend!

Getting your lab work handled within a top-tier medical system provides an immense sense of security and accuracy.

Penn Outpatient Lab 3701 Market connects you directly to the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania (CPUP) network while offering exceptionally flexible hours from early morning until evening.

Everything syncs with the myPennMedicine app, so your care team can view your results instantly without bottlenecks. It’s ideal if you’re already working through things with local psychotherapists or primary doctors in the same hospital system.

On top of that, squeezing in a fasting draw before your workday starts is incredibly simple because their organized staff gets people moving within thirty minutes.

However, driving through Market Street traffic during rush hour can be an absolute nightmare, and parking fees get expensive.

Also, they don’t accept walk-ins, so you must book ahead.

Pros

  • Top-tier medical network connection
  • Extended morning and evening hours
  • Simple ground-floor building access
  • Instant digital portal syncing

Cons

  • Strict appointment-only policy
  • Pricey standalone parking rates

Highly recommend for lab work.

Highly recommend for lab work. Booked online. The girls at the front are nice and friendly. Was seen within minutes of my appointment. Michele did my draw and I barely felt a thing! I hate getting blood done but she is pro!! In and out in 10 mins. Parking is a little tricky though.

My Phlebotomist was extremely professional.

Outstanding!!!

My Phlebotomist was extremely professional.  I think her name was Lovetta Brown. I’m considered a “Hard Stick”  however,  Ms. Brown was able to get my blood on the first try.

First time meeting her. I would like to request her on my next visit to U of P Lab at 3701 Market Street.

Great Customer Service

Skipping the drive to a physical clinic altogether is the ultimate luxury when you need a routine draw.

Officially Stamped Lab Services is a mobile phlebotomy provider that brings the lab experience straight to your living room or office desk, erasing traffic stress.

It’s a great option for seniors or busy parents who want to avoid chaotic medical centers.

My close friend recently used them for her toddler’s specialized blood work, and she appreciated how gentle and punctual the technician was during their home visit.

They also partner directly with Ulta Lab Tests to offer discounted direct-to-consumer options alongside corporate drug compliance testing.

On the downside, they’re not designed for traditional walk-in visits since their business model centers on mobile operations. You will also face out-of-pocket convenience fees for travel that regular insurance plans usually will not cover.

Pros

  • Zero clinic traffic headaches
  •
  • Direct-to-consumer discounted partners
  • Flexible early morning mobile slots

Cons

  • No traditional walk-in setups
  • Extra out-of-pocket travel fees

The process was super quick and painless

I was connected with this mobile lab service as part of a genetic study I’m a part of – it was super easy to schedule with her and she was very responsive. My lab technician arrived to my home right on time and was polite, efficient and made me feel comfortable. The process was super quick and painless and I would be glad to work with this organization again!

Super friendly and easy to talk to

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Booking was simple, she showed up right on time, and the whole thing was over in minutes. Super friendly and easy to talk to – highly recommend Kim P!

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM; Saturday to Sunday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

AFC Urgent Care South Philly houses an on-site, CLIA-certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) lab. This helps them deliver fast, streamlined testing without sending your samples across town.

They handle everything from pediatric checks to routine sexually transmitted disease (STD) screenings under one roof.

Plus, they accept most major insurance plans and outline clear, discounted self-pay rates before any needles touch your arm.

It’s also convenient that they welcome immediate walk-ins seven days a week. Most patients actually end up finishing their entire visit in under an hour, making it perfect for busy schedules.

Pros

  • On-site certified testing labs
  • Seven-day weekly availability
  • Transparent upfront financial breakdowns
  • Broad primary pediatric capabilities

Cons
