D’Mont Reese Photography & Video is my “one call covers it” pick. D’Mont Reese, the person behind it, caters to events and commercial work.
He also provides an in-house video and photo booth. If you want one crew for the whole day, this makes life easy.
D’Mont and his team have been at it since 1991. They have already covered thousands of gigs. In fact, believe it or not, this includes President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, Pope John Paul II (yes, big, moving parts don’t scare them!).
There’s a big natural-light studio for controlled shoots, and they’ll roll out on location when you need it. Bonus part? They have ample parking space, so you’re not circling before your session.
Their packages scale from quick sessions to full productions, offering clear deliverables. However, note that pricing may vary. Be sure to request an itemized estimate.

“I needed some new headshots. A quick google search connected me to this studio in Manyunk, a quick 8 minute drive away. I found the studio to be spacious and comfortable and with decor appropriate for a photography studio. D’Mont’s style was laid back with an eye for detail that made me feel confident in my poses and excited to see what the photos would look like. I found the prices to be extremely reasonable. I wasn’t keeping track of the time but I certainly did not feel rushed at all. And he delivered the photos when he promised and offered 2 free retouches. I particularly like that the pricing is truly straightforward. The $299 Headshot Package covers a one-hour session with unlimited photos. Additionally, you’ll receive three outfits, each with one retouch, and a download of all the images.
In NYC and Philly, Christopher usually leads the shoot himself. But I like that he also brings an assistant when the job needs it (he’s always ready!)
For larger or multi-city projects, Christopher and his team step in, providing extra hands exactly when it counts—just as they did during a friend’s experience in Miami.
However, the team is on the move frequently, and they book up quickly. If this fits your timeline, grab a date early and save yourself early.

James Kern Photography shines with portraits that truly stand out—sleek headshots, campaign-ready portraits, and magazine-style sets. This service is ideal for team pages and launches that require a polished look quickly.
Sessions start at $300. It already includes professional hair and makeup, three outfits, and retouching.
However, their premium collections begin at $900. While it already includes a folio box of 10 images and an 8×12 metal print, I find it a stretch for those on a budget. But if you like a metal print that feels gallery-ready, the value is worth it.
On the plus side, you receive a complimentary consultation and a seamless transition from styling to guided posing.
Another factor I appreciate is that the studio’s vibe is supportive. It focuses on confidence-first, which suits boudoir and personal branding.

I like Aliza Schlabach’s boudoir focus. She truly captures that dark and moody feel done right. You can actually think of it as “moody white,” hand-painted backdrops, and styled sets that you can mix and match (yes, that’s her approach).
Aside from that, I appreciate that packages are clear. The Petite Package starts at $800, which includes two sets, two outfits, and five edited digitals. Meanwhile, the Luxe Package begins at $1,600 for 2-4 hours, with a same-day reveal.
I love that instant pick-your-favorites moment. And if you’re going big, Luxe can span nine to eleven looks. One client mentioned that the sessions felt well worth the investment.
You can also get closet access, plus an optional professional glam team if you want the full glow. The add-on menu is also transparent, which I truly appreciate.
However, sessions are scheduled on weekdays and typically booked 2-4 months in advance.

Lifestyle portraits come first here, including families, maternity, and newborns. That’s why branding and headshots feel like you, and not just a template.
Based in Fishtown with studio access through Sapphire Studio, Sam shoots solo in-studio or on location. I appreciate that it’s a woman-owned and LGBTQIA+ owned business. It genuinely sets a warm and welcoming tone.
Events and couples get a candid, documentary touch. The photos look lived-in, not stiff. Not to mention that the turnaround is quick and communication is clear, so planning stays truly easy.
However, popular dates sell out quickly, but there’s a helpful workaround. During busy weeks, she opens extra Friday slots. So, book early if you’re eyeing golden hour.
