Leaving town is exciting for us, but for our dogs? Not so much. Every time we plan a getaway, our dog gives us that look—the one that says, “Excuse me, who approved this trip without me?” And honestly, fair point.
The real challenge is finding dog boarding in Philadelphia that feels less like a kennel and more like a second home. We wanted places that keep tails wagging and worries low, so we checked out Philly’s best options.
These spots go beyond basic care, giving pups the comfort and attention they deserve while we’re away.
How much do dog boarding services cost in Philadelphia?
Dog boarding services in Philadelphia cost between $45 and $85 per night. However, prices vary depending on the type of accommodations, inclusions, and size or breed of the dog.
1. Philadelphia Pet Hotel & Villas

Address: 7401 Holstein Ave, PA 19153
Contact Details: +1 215-365-4555
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday-Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
If your pup’s the type who lives for playdates, Philly Pet Hotel & Villas is pretty much doggy paradise.
We love that they have five acres of space, eight massive yards, and even indoor arenas that are heated and cooled, which makes it a summer camp for dogs.
Plus, with a 10:1 staff-to-dog ratio, there’s always someone keeping an eye on the action. Honestly, you don’t have to worry about rough play getting out of hand.
But what we like most is that they don’t just leave it at group play. Every dog gets two private walks a day, built right into the stay. That’s a nice touch, especially if your dog needs a little one-on-one time.
And since it’s just minutes from the airport, drop-offs and pick-ups are extremely convenient.
The only catch? It’s definitely on the pricier side compared to smaller boarding places, especially if you’re looking at their luxury suites or longer stays.
Dog-obsessed staff who keep owners updated with love and photos
“I cannot recommend these people enough. they are as dog-crazy as I am and that is a hard thing to accomplish. I feel so secure and comfortable when they watch my dogs. I love getting the photo updates — they write a lot and send loads of photos! I love seeing my dogs have such fun and get kisses from the staff. The staff is well trained in dog handling and managing dog playgroups. They really get to know the dogs in their care. They are really easy to reach via email which is really convenient for me!”

Hands-on owners, thoughtful care, and dogs that come home better behaved
“One of the most notable aspects of this place is that the owners are actively involved in everything that happens, work very hard to ensure high-quality care, and treat your dogs like their own. The staff form relationships with the dogs to the point that they all remember each other. We’ve had our dogs stay with them many times and have found it to be convenient and accommodating. Although I have never personally stayed in the kennels, they seem nice, and the sizing is thoughtful. One unique aspect of their offering is the variety of socialization options available for the dogs. After more extended stays, our dogs behave a bit better on walks and in general.”

Contact Details: +1 445-270-0253
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Wag Days Philly has that cozy, laid-back feel that anxious pups really need. The boarding suites are private, climate-controlled, and designed for comfort. They’re best for dogs that don’t love big, noisy groups.
What stands out is how they combine comfort with just the right amount of activity. There are indoor and outdoor play areas, plus fun enrichment add-ons like puzzles and snuffle mats to keep dogs busy without overwhelming them.
We also noticed how seriously they take safety. Yes, we love that they conduct behavior and vaccination screenings that give owners peace of mind.
Another perk worth noting is their first-day-free offer for new dogs. Our pup passed the behavior evaluation, and they offered us a complimentary trial day.
However, their facility is so popular that it fills up fast. That’s the trade-off when a place offers such polished and thoughtful care—everyone wants in.
A pup who can’t wait to get through the door
“Our dog, Mo, absolutely loves going to Wag Days for daycare! She is basically dragging us to the door to go see her friends and comes home happy and tired from playing! We feel really comforted knowing that they love and care for our dog as much as we would! One of the best decisions we’ve ever made!”

Two years of happy daycare runs and peace of mind
“I literally cannot say enough about how wonderful Wag Days is. We have been taking our dog Charlie there for almost two years now & we have never had anything short of an amazing experience. Our pup sprints to daycare when we tell him that’s where he’s going & we feel so at ease knowing he’s happy there and having fun. The staff is amazing & gives frequent updates via pictures throughout the day. Your dog will come home tired & happy!”

3. Little White Dog Doggie Daycare

Address: 90 Rochelle Ave, PA 19128
Contact Details: +1 267-437-4215
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Our neighbor swore by Little White Dog Daycare, and we now get why. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but it runs on structure and consistency. Dogs stick to a routine, join their daycare groups during the day, and always have something to do.
What we like most about them is how they handle safety. Every dog goes through a behavior check, and they’re grouped by size and play style.
With more than 6,000 square feet of play space inside and out, pups get plenty of exercise without things getting too wild.
For overnight stays, dogs can rest in a room or crate, and there’s even an option to bunk with a handler if they need extra comfort. We were also delighted to know that their staff are trained in CPR and pet first aid.
The only drawback? Drop-off windows are strict, and spots go quickly, so planning ahead is a must. It’s not the easiest place for last-minute boarding either.
Caring staff who go above and beyond for every dog
“Our dog has been going here for a few years and we love it here, and so does our dog. She is a bit tricky and the staff have been wonderful with her. They are kind, thoughtful and really take care of our dog while she is with them. Little White Dog is the best Doggie Daycare around.”

Well-run daycare and boarding that truly understands dogs

Contact Details: +1 215-462-1585
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Saturday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
If your pup deserves a vacation that rivals yours, that’s exactly the vibe at BarkPark. You can honestly think of a daycare and cozy suites that make boarding feel like a treat instead of a chore.
We appreciate that every stay includes full-day daycare and meals, so dogs spend their time playing, socializing, and being cared for—not just waiting in a kennel.
And what’s even nicer is that they provide cots, blankets, and kennel-free options for extra comfort.
But what really stands out are the thoughtful extras, like daily “report cards” with photos, capped pack sizes for more one-on-one attention, and enrichment add-ons like frozen Kongs or snuffle mats.
The only downside is that some of these cost extra, so the bill may be higher than expected if you want the full experience.
Happy pups, calmer energy, and top-notch grooming care
“Love Bark Park! They take such wonderful care of my furbabies!!! The groomers are excellent! I use them for daycare and my pups come home happy, healthy and very exhausted. I have one crazy pup who has greatly calmed down since hanging at Bark Park. We love you guys! Sincerely Jo, Rags, and Rupert (aka Captain Chaos).”

5. Central Bark

Address: 2501 Wharton St, Building F, PA 19146
Contact Details: +1 267-861-2275
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 6:45 AM – 6:30 PM
- Saturday-Sunday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sometimes, boarding feels a little too plain, but Central Bark makes it feel like a retreat. Their sleepovers come with a full day of daycare, so dogs aren’t just waiting around—they’re playing, socializing, and staying active.
What stands out most is their “Whole Dog Care” approach. It seems like they’ve thought through every detail—physical activity, emotional comfort, and even mental stimulation.
We also appreciate the flexible playgroups and enrichment breaks offered here. These really help keep the day balanced and fun, based on our experience.
On top of that, they’ve got grooming, training, and even a shop for toys and treats. It feels like a one-stop spot where your dog can be pampered.
The only catch is that sleepovers are mainly for pups already enrolled in daycare. It means new clients need to go through the daycare process first, which can feel like an extra step.
From shy pup to confident graduate
“My dog and I have done a lot with Philly Unleashed and I am so grateful for all their help with my unique pup! My dog started with personal training at my home which was so helpful when she was a puppy. As she got older she developed some anxiety and fear around new people. I found their “shy dog” class and it was perfect! She made so much progress there and the trainers were amazing. As we finished that course a trainer said she might be a good candidate for Level One Obedience. The more she progressed, I agreed, so I signed her up a year later. The trainers couldn’t believe she used to be a shy dog! She just graduated from Level One, and I would definitely sign her up for the next course of level two or their Canine Good Citizen, but we move this month. If we move back to the Philly area I will definitely see what courses they have available!”

Four years of happy daycare and staff who truly care
“Central Bark is a wonderful daycare! My dog has now gone here for 4 years and wiggles in excitement every time we drop her off. The staff know and care for her and she clearly loves it. I love that she is always excited to see everyone and that they do all kinds of different activities with the dogs. She always comes home tired and happy. The staff have also been very accommodating over the years when we have had to make last minute schedule changes and were very thoughtful in helping us plan out dog care for when we had a baby earlier this year. The price has increased with time/ inflation, but I can’t imagine taking my dog anywhere else. This awesome staff is well worth the money!”
